"Are you sure she is not a scheming bitch? You can never be sure with the innocent-looking ones."

We were inside the small powder room at his parent's rest house in Rizal where their wedding anniversary was being held. I dragged Leyton inside to voice my concerns about his wife while he was under the impression that I was doing all this in hopes of getting caught by Kai. But this was not about Kai. This was about how I don't trust his innocent-looking wife.

He suddenly looked murderous at the mention of his wife and the look on his face honestly scared me a little bit because it was the first time I actually see him this angry.

"What the fuck did you say about my wife?"

I contemplated for a bit but then decided to say it again anyway. "I said you shouldn't trust her because she might be a bitc-"

Hindi ko natapos ang sasabihin dahil agad na hinawakan niya ako sa leeg at dinikit sa dingding.

Namilog ang mga mata ko. I wasn't expecting him to react this way. Wala sa loob na hinawakan ko ang kamay niya sa leeg ko. Hindi masikip at alam kong hindi niya ako sasaktan pero nanibago ako dahil hindi ni minsan niya akong hinawakan ng ganito.

It was the first time I saw him this angry at me and it was also the first time I saw him so affected by a woman. Huh, he really is so smitten with Kristina.

I glared at him when he didn't remove his stupid hand. "Let me go, you asshole!"

"Don't fucking call my wife names. You're my friend but don't ever cross this line again, Cole. You hear me?"

I rolled my eyes despite my nerves. "Done. Now let me go before I knee you in the balls at hindi ka magkaanak!"

Bago paman niya ako mabitawan ay biglang bumukas ang pinto sa powder room kung nasaan kami.

Shit! I forgot I recklessly sent Kristina a text because I wanted to test if she really cared about Leyton.

She looked stricken as she took on our position and my heart clenched when I register the pain in her eyes. Gusto kong magpaliwang at sabihin sa kanya na wala siyang dapat ipag-alala. Pero hindi iyon ang nangyari. I don't know what came over me but looking at her overly innocent and kind face was like a punch in the gut. She reminded me so much of her... I only hesistated for a second before I planted a smirk on my lips and tried to pull Leyton's head to make her think that I was going to kiss him.

Agad na lumabas siya at agad na tinulak ko rin si Leyton palayo sa skin.

He growled and glared at me, he didn't notice his wife catching us.

"I don't understand you at all, Cole. You know you don't need to do this shit just to get Kai's attention. He would willingly give it to you no questions asked," he said in a disappointed voice.

Walang ka alam-alam na lumabas siya ng powder room and that's when hell break loose.

Reid dragged me by the arm and steered me away from the arguing couple. Marahas na tinulak ko siya.

Reid pinned me with a glare. "What the fuck was that about, Nicola?"

I rolled my eyes and glanced at the curious eyes that were looking at us. "What the fuck is what, Reid?"

"Are you doing this to get Kai's attention? Iniisip mo ba na makakarating ito sa kanya?" galit na sabi niya.

Napasimangot ako. Why would they think that way? I was looking out for a friend for pete's sake! Granted, I shouldn't have made it look like I was going to kiss Leyton-YUCK- but I didn't do it to get Kai's attention.
