Marcus nodded, his mind racing as he continued to flip through the diaries. He had suspected that there was more to Mae than met the eye, but he never imagined that she would resort to something so drastic.

"I know who are the main suspects in this case, you are looking for the two men Noah and Lucas Williams, they both also had a thing for Elaine but she rejected them. Those boys, twins. I looked through Mae's emails, she planned her death to set up Elaine," Daisy said as she showed him printed proof of the emails.

Marcus's eyes widened as he looked at the emails, seeing the evidence laid out in front of him. It was all starting to make sense now - Mae had been manipulating and planning her death to frame me. He had to admit, it was a clever but twisted plan.

Marcus nodded, remembering what Mae had told him earlier about the group. "Yes, she did mention the group," he said. "Can you tell me more about it?"

"It doesn't exist at all," Daisy said.

Marcus was surprised by this revelation. "What do you mean it doesn't exist?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Mae likes to make up stories in her head, she wasn't really there. A bit delusional," She said.

Marcus leaned back in his chair, feeling a mix of disbelief and disbelief. "So Mae was basically fabricating this group in her head?" he asked, trying to wrap his mind around what he was hearing.

"Basically yes," Daisy replied.

Marcus felt a pang of frustration at the realization that he had spent so much time pursuing a lead that was never even real. But he pushed the feeling aside and focused on the task at hand. "Okay, thank you for this information," he said, gesturing towards the diaries and emails. "This changes things."

"Look, I know you must be tired but I promise you this is the truth. I mean there is proof, that I am not like my sister. You need to arrest Lucas and Noah before they get to Elaine. You need to find Elaine before they find her," Daisy said firmly.

Marcus nodded, feeling a newfound determination take over him. "You're right," he said, standing up from his chair. "I need to find Elaine and make sure she's safe. Do you know where she is right now?"

"Yes and I need to tell you something. I am the girl who hacked phones, Elaine's close friend. I was trying to find out who sent the threats and I did," Daisy said.

Marcus raised an eyebrow, surprised by this revelation. "You hacked phones? And you found out who sent the threats to Elaine?" he asked, his interest piqued.

"Yes, it was Andrew and Mae," Daisy admitted as she showed him the proof on printed forms.

Marcus's eyes widened in shock as he looked over the printed forms. "Mae and Andrew sent the threats? That's..." he trailed off, struggling to find the right words to express his surprise.

"But why would they send these threats to Elaine?" he asked, his mind racing to make sense of this new information.

"You already know, Elaine will be at Sam's grave she goes there every night. Hurry before the twins make it there first, bring backup," Daisy insisted.

Marcus felt a pang of fear and urgency at Daisy's warning. He knew he needed to act fast to protect me. "Thank you," he said, gathering up the evidence and stuffing it into his briefcase. "I'll head there right now."

He quickly rose from his chair and headed towards the door, his mind racing with thoughts and plans. He needed to make sure I was okay and bring these twins into custody before they could harm me.

As he reached the door, he turned back to Daisy. "Thank you for your help," he said, his tone firm. "You may have just helped save a life." With that, he rushed out of the office and towards the parking lot, his mind focused on finding me and keeping me safe.

He quickly got into his car and started the engine, his heart racing with each passing moment. He pulled out of the parking lot and sped towards the cemetery, trying to beat the twins to me.

As Marcus drove up to the cemetery, he spotted me sitting at a grave, presumably Sam's. His heart ached at the sight; he knew I had been going through a lot lately, and it pained him to see me hurting like this.

Marcus got out of his car and approached me cautiously, noticing that I seemed to be waiting for something. He glanced around, seeing that the backup he had requested was keeping a watchful eye on the situation from a distance.

"Elaine," he said, his tone soft as he approached you. "We need to talk." He took a seat beside me, his eyes on me as he spoke. "I've been doing some digging, and I think I've uncovered some important information about the case," he said, his tone serious.

"I know, Daisy-" Before I continued I heard a shot go off. Everything happened so fast. All of a sudden, a shot rang out through the cemetery, and Marcus was hit in the shoulder, falling backwards onto the grass. Pain coursed through his body, but his instincts kicked in as he tried to protect himself, his training taking over.

I moved to him fast and I put pressure on his shoulder "Don't fucking leave me," I said to him with tears in my eyes.

"I'm not going anywhere," he grunted through gritted teeth, trying to push past the pain. He could feel my presence beside him, the sound of my voice and the feel of my hands on his shoulder grounding him.

Marcus's eyes widened in horror as he saw Noah grab me by the hair and pull me away from him. He tried to push himself up, but the pain in his shoulder was excruciating, and he collapsed back down onto the ground.

"How cute, a love story between a nosy agent and a selfish girl," Noah laughed.

Marcus felt a pang of anger at Noah's words, but he was too weak to respond. From his prone position on the ground, he could see me struggling in Noah's grasp, my face a mix of fear and defiance.
