THE CLOUDS GOT darker the farther they drove. Arizona tapped her fingers on the dashboard, the wind blowing through her hair.

She sat in the passenger seat while Javi drove, eating Cheetos and faintly singing whatever song that was playing on the radio.

She held a tablet in her hand, the screen showing a satellite image of the storms they were about to drive into.

Arizona looked out the window, her eyes taking in everything around her. She felt a mixture of excitement and total dread, this one storm being the same thing that took away her mother, but could also be her greatest achievement.

"You got a good feeling about today?" Javi asked, taking a second to look over at Arizona.

She sighed, her heart feeling heavy. "I hope so. I—I mean, the calculations are all correct, we have everything set in stone...what could go wrong?" She tried to give a smile, but even Javi could see that it was weak.

Thunder rumbled in the distance, the occasional lightning strike lighting up the sky. Arizona knew it wasn't real, but she could hear the sound of a train in her ears.

It's not real, she told herself, blinking back tears she didn't know she was holding.

From next to her, Javi picked up their radio. "Alright, how we getting to this thing?" he asked, surveying the clouds. "I need a southwest position to read my sensors."

On the other end, Jeb's voice called out, "Yeah, coming right up."

Their van took a sharp right, heading straight towards the darkness. "Not in Kansas anymore," Arizona whispered, watching the funnel begin to form.

Looking down at her tablet, she noticed the levels rising. She furrowed her brows, saying, "Woah, Javi, the wind sheer is strong. Look at this!"

She shoved the tablet in front of his face, pointing at the screen and showing him what she saw.

"Damn, you're right!" Javi exclaimed, his eyes widening at the information.

"We should get the mixture ready," Arizona said suddenly. She had a feeling bubbling inside of her, telling her that now was the time.

"Ari, it's not even raining yet—" Javi was cut off by rain droplets starting to pelt the front windshield. He looked at her, shaking his head, but a smile on his face. "The woman that you are, Arizona Clark."

She just gave him a smile back, and watched as he put the car in park. She kept her eyes on the sky and she took off her hat and pulled her hair into a ponytail. "Keep that safe for me, will ya? Mama would kill me if I lost it."

Javi looked down at the Stetson hat in the seat. "Don't worry. I'll keep it safe."

Arizona then jumped out of the car, running towards the yellow barrels. She met up with Kate and the two girls couldn't help the smiles growing on their faces.

Together, they poured and stirred, making sure to add the right measurements of chemicals. If they didn't, their whole plan could be a total bust.

"There she is!" Javi called out, shutting his door and holding a computer in his hand.

Arizona looked back, seeing the funnel of clouds darken and zip towards the ground. The wind growing made it hard to see, but Arizona placed a hand over her eyes, blocking it out.

"C'mon," she said, anxiously grabbing a shovel and stirring the mixture more. "We gotta move!"

Kate started laughing, her eagerness allowing her hands to work quicker.
