I grew up with a big family and that meant having to balance work with school. Work left me with no free time so I didn't really have much of a social life, that all changed when I met my husband Vinnie.
He was a regular at the restaurant I worked at, although now he admits that the reason for him being a regular there was because of me.
Eventually Vinnie and I got married and I became an author and house wife, at first I told Vinnie that I didn't feel right not working but he insisted that he wanted to care of me and that I'd already spent such a large portion of my life and working.
Of course I had the money I made from my books but it was no where near Vinnie's Income.
I soon realized that I loved being a housewife, I had my books which left me some financial independence but I truly enjoyed baking and cooking all day, when Vinnie came home and wrapped me in his arms giving me a sweet kiss and making him happy with all my new recipes was the highlight of my day and it was something I was proud of.
Tonight Vinnie had a work party to attend to so of course I came with him, I spent hours on my makeup and hair and soon it would be time to go.
"Y/N baby, limo's here" Vinnie hollered
I Walked down the stairs being careful not to trip over my heels, Vinnie's head lifted and his lips parted, "wow"
My face heated, he still had the same effect on me like he did when we first met. "You look so beautiful baby, how'd I get so lucky" he said while taking my hand into his, pulling me closer for a kiss.

When Vinnie and I arrived he began to introduce me to his employees, he was the boss of course.
I stared at him longingly as I waited at the bar for my drink, he's so handsome and damn does he look good in that suit.
My thoughts are interrupted when one of his employees he introduced me to earlier approaches me, I greet her with a warm smile "Hi, you're Emily, right?" She looks me up and down, a look of disgust crossing her face. "Yes, that's corrects. I work in accounting. What do you do? Oh that's right nothing." My eyebrows furrow, I can't believe what she just said to me. "I do have a job actually, I'm an author and a very proud housewife, nothing makes me happier than taking care of my husband." I say confidently.
She rolls her eyes "oh please, being an author isn't a real job just like how being a house wife isn't a real job. You know what would really make your husband happy? If you weren't always at home bugging him."
Even though I didn't know this women a sense of hurt came over me
I felt someone latch onto me protectively. "How DARE you speak to my wife like that? She is a fantastic writer, something you wouldn't know anything about. You don't know a thing about my wife so I would suggest you shut up. She is an amazing wife and I LOVE having her at home. She is what makes it all worth it."
"I-I didn't mean it.." Emily mumbles in fear
"Save it. You're fired." Vinnie yells
The car ride is filled with tension, I can feel vinnie's anger radiating off of him. "I'm so sorry baby, I brought you here to meet who I work with and it turned out to be horrible. You deserved so much better than that. You know how much I admire you, right? I think you're beyond amazing."
I rub my thumb on his hand "Vin, you don't have to apologize it's not your fault. Thank you for standing up for me baby, you're the amazing one."
"I'll always stand up for you"
