LIFE IS FULL OF surprises. When I was ten, I found a box of puppies on the way home from school. They'd been left to die, and probably would have if not for me finding them.
When I was seventeen, my boyfriend of three years broke up with me a week before prom just so he could take one of my other friends.
And now, at the age of twenty-one, I'm eating breakfast with complete strangers.
I'd managed to call Mia last night and let her know of my whereabouts, and I felt relieved to hear that she ended up staying at Javier's place — AKA, teardrop tattoo guy.
I decided against telling her about the entire bloody box ordeal. Some things are just better left unsaid.
"So, you're from America?" Damian, who I've come to learn is one out of the four brothers, says over a spoonful of cornflakes.
I eye the sugary garbage as he scoops several more spoonfuls into his mouth. "Yeah, I'm only here for a few short months to complete a working student program."
Damian eyes me warily. He's cute — charming. His hair's tousled and he's still in his sleep attire, but pretty nonetheless.
"And how do you like it so far? Is Montecello living up to your standards?" Damian asks. I nod slowly and lean back into my chair. I'm completely stuffed. Damian was nice enough to prepare me pancakes and bacon for breakfast, which is miles better than his cereal.
"Yeah, no it's so lovely here."
We both look over in unison to a groggy, tousled Nico. He's the tallest and the strongest of all the brothers, and his fiery hot stare is stuck on me like glue as he saunters over into the seat nearest Damian.
Even in his gray sweatpants and tight black shirt, he looks mouth watering.
It's disgusting really.
"Where's Adrian and Santi?" Damian's attention is now on Nico and it allows me enough space to breathe properly.
It feels awkward, to say the least. Being here, sat at a table with people I hardly know. And funnily enough, Damian seems totally chill about all of this. Does Nico usually bring females over?
Probably. It's no secret that he has major sex appeal and the looks to melt the panties off of any woman. It's just his personality that ruins the entire thing.
He could be bearable if his lips were sewn shut.
The way Nico's broad arms flex as he leans forward on them doesn't get lost on me. "They're back in the city."
