George sat on the edge of the couch, nervously tapping his foot against the floor. He had been invited to a casual get-together at his best friend Sapnap's house, but tonight felt different. The butterflies in his stomach fluttered incessantly, and he couldn't quite place why he felt so anxious. Maybe it was the fact that Sapnap's brother, Dream, would be there. George had heard a lot about Dream but had never spent much time with him. Tonight, that was about to change.
"George, relax," Sapnap chuckled as he walked into the living room, holding a couple of soda cans. "You look like you're waiting for a job interview."
George forced a smile, trying to shake off his nerves. "Yeah, just... you know, it's been a long day."
Sapnap handed him a soda and plopped down beside him. "Well, Dream should be here any minute. He's excited to hang out with us."
George nodded, his mind racing. He had seen Dream around, but they had never really interacted beyond polite hellos. He was aware of Dream's reputation—smart, charming, and undeniably attractive. George couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated.
As if on cue, the front door opened, and in walked Dream, his presence commanding the room's attention. He had an easy smile, and his green eyes sparkled with warmth. George's heart skipped a beat.
"Hey, Sapnap!" Dream called out, walking over to give his brother a quick hug. Then, his gaze shifted to George, and his smile widened. "You must be George. I've heard a lot about you."
George stood up, feeling a bit awkward but extending his hand nonetheless. "Yeah, that's me. Nice to finally meet you, Dream."
Dream shook his hand firmly, his touch lingering just a moment longer than necessary. "Likewise. Sapnap never stops talking about you."
Sapnap laughed, nudging George. "All good things, I promise."
They settled into a comfortable conversation, Dream effortlessly blending into their dynamic. George found himself relaxing, his initial nerves melting away in the warmth of Dream's personality. As the evening wore on, they shared stories, laughed, and bonded over mutual interests. George was surprised by how easy it was to talk to Dream, how natural it felt to be around him.
At one point, Sapnap excused himself to take a phone call, leaving George and Dream alone in the living room. An awkward silence settled over them for a moment, but Dream quickly broke it.
"So, George, tell me more about yourself. Sapnap mentioned you're quite the interesting person," Dream said, leaning forward with genuine interest.
George blushed slightly, scratching the back of his neck. "Oh, I don't know about that. I'm just me."
Dream's eyes lit up. "Well, I'm glad I finally get to know you better. Maybe we could hang out sometime, just the two of us."
George's heart skipped a beat. The thought of spending time alone with Dream was both thrilling and terrifying. "I'd like that. A lot."
As the night went on, George found himself drawn to Dream in ways he hadn't expected. There was something magnetic about him, something that made George feel seen and appreciated. They talked about everything from their favorite movies to their dreams for the future. George felt a connection forming, one that went beyond the surface.
Eventually, the evening drew to a close. Sapnap returned, and they all said their goodbyes. As George gathered his things, Dream walked him to the door.
"Hey, George," Dream said softly, a hint of hesitation in his voice.
"Yeah?" George turned to look at him, his heart pounding.
"I had a really great time tonight. I'd like to hang out again, just the two of us. If you're up for it," Dream said, his eyes searching George's face for a reaction.
George felt a smile tug at his lips. "I'd like that too, Dream. A lot."
Dream's face lit up with a smile that made George's heart flutter. "Great. I'll text you, and we can plan something."
They said their final goodbyes, and George left Sapnap's house feeling lighter than he had in a long time. As he walked home, he couldn't stop thinking about Dream.....the way he made him feel, the connection they had formed. It was unexpected, but it felt right.
