In what feels like another lifetime, before he met Harry, Louis fell in love for the first time. Back when he thought that love was for all. He was 19 when he and Jason shared their first kiss on a camping trip. Jason held him so close that he forgot about his abusive household and everything wrong in his life. Whispers began to circle eventually. Soon enough, the pair realized that their small town would never accept a love like theirs. A few years into their relationship, after nearly escaping getting caught on uncountable trysts, they decided to elope.

Louis gathered everything he'd need to survive and never looked back. He ran to the train station where Jason was supposed to be waiting for him. Louis rolled his eyes at his tardiness.

After half an hour of waiting, the train arrived.

Jason never did.

With tears streaming down his face, Louis gave the station a once over before getting on the train alone. Love's a mockery he decided that day.

Harry unfroze his love and painted him golden but Louis never really learnt to be brave after the betrayal he faced.

Louis had approached Harry because of his regal appearance. He took him for someone wealthy and spoiled, meeting a fellow con artist was a bolt from the blue for him. They both had a good laugh about that. Louis fell for Harry like an early spring snow Being drawn into like a moth to a flame, was sure to be a stumbling block. When Harry told him that he loved him, he couldn't find the courage to say it back. He settled on "you fill my heart with love." Cringing at the cheesiness, he attempted the three words again, only to be silenced with a kiss.

"Say it when you're ready, darling," Harry spoke gently and lifted him in his arms.

Although it took him some time to get around to saying it, he loved Harry so much that it pained him. One of the many nights after their meeting on the tennis court, Harry had stripped him naked, kissed every part of his body, and made love to him till the morning. Louis had the three words on the tip of his tongue but then Harry started talking about the man he was escorting for.

Louis hated how Harry talked so highly of Phil. Phil was just another old man impaired by Harry's youth and shouldn't be regarded as anything else.

He hated how Phil kissed him on the lips in front of everyone. And how Harry smiled at him like it meant something. Loathed how Phil always intertwined their hands when they sat on a table like they were giggling highschool goers.

That was the day that Harry told him that he didn't plan to steal from Phil. He didn't want to betray the trust the man had laid in him. Harry admired him too much to betray him.

So Louis did.

Louis rolled over on the bed and sighed in content as his back pressed against a naked body. Harry was still there, he thought to himself. The sunlight from the window made his body look like it was covered in glitter. Louis resisted the urge to touch and trace his shoulder blade.

Knowing that he'd probably be leaving as soon as he got up, Lous debated on letting him sleep as long as he could. But the time was ticking and it was only two hours before either Martha or Ronald knocked on their door to collect their conquests.

He mumbled something in his sleep before turning his body towards Louis. Half-awake, Harry reached forward to grab his arm and used it as leverage to nuzzle Louis' neck. He stays still, holding his breath, basking in the feeling of Harry's lips against his skin. Eventually, the man started stirring in his sleep.
