-In the Stars By Benson Boone-

-Kaitlyn's POV-

On the way to Joshua's, I don't know how to feel if I am being the most honest.  I do have butterflies, but I can't tell if they are anxious or excited ones.

Joshua married my mother after I was in the coma. My mother was we previously married to some other guy, to be honest I forgot his name. He died of cancer when I was younger. Didn't really care about him.

Joshua has an English and Swedish descent. He's bald and we see each other as friends. Nothing more nothing less. I've only known him for four years.

He lives in a dark blue town house. It has a very large window in the roof, he moved their after my mother died a few months ago.

"Is this the house?" Steve asks. He snaps me back to my thoughts. The blue multi floored town house I pictured is right in front of me. Uh yea It is Steve.

"I believe you're correct." I smile. I stare out the passenger window admiring the blue siding and dark gray roof. I always loved this house.

Steve wheels me to the door and I reach out, ringing the doorbell, which plays like a piano. The door handle clicks, and I'm welcomed by Josh's bright smile.

"Kaitlyn, I'm so glad to see you came! What happened?" His voice is cheery like I always remember.

"Oh. Don't worry about it. It wasn't that bad." I smile.

"Come on in! Oh and you must be Steve! It's lovely to meet you." Joshua sticks his hand out for him to shake it and Steve shakes it.

Joshua has a grand entrance with walnut flooring and a grand staircase with all wooden floors and white railing with black on top the posts. And a large grand piano is beside it.

"This is for you Kate." Joshua hands me a sealed envelope. I take it almost immediately.

"I would like to have a talk with you Steve, first. Kate, Nikki will help you upstairs." Joshua tells me. Nikki is Joshua's youngest daughter who is twenty and goes to New York university. I get along with her, but most of the time she is never home.

Joshua and Steve disappear into his parlor and or living room as he calls it. Right as I turn my head, Nikki appears beside me.

"Kaitlyn!" She hugs me, and her short brunette bob falls off her shoulders. "What happened to you?" She exclaims.

"I broke my knee." I tell her,

"I hope you can walk soon. C'mon! We're going to pack up your room silly." She laughs.

"Pack up my room?" I repeat.

"Yeah . . You're moving in with the avengers and Steve, because he's your legal guardian. Isn't he?" Nikki says as she starts to lead me up the stairs.

"Oh, I hadn't come to think of that." I say. Nikki smiles.

"It's going to be weird without someone occupying this room." She laughs to herself.

"I'll still come and visit you Nikki. Don't worry about me." I promise.

"Augh! You're so sweet. I don't deserve you!" She hugs me, squeezing me tightly.

My room at Joshua's is so simple and cute, Nikki says it reminds her of old money. White curtains with little poofs of white yarn are scattered over them. I have transparent sets of curtains that drape over my bed like a canopy. My bed it a light pink and white upholstered frame. White shelves and nightstands lie on both sides of my bed filled with delicate memories. My walls are a light cranberry pink and a walnut floor covered with a fluffy white carpet.
