POV Freya

The next few months got worse and worse. Bella screamed like crazy because of nightmares, so Charlie never got any proper sleep. Bella locked herself in her room, ate almost nothing, and wrote emails to Alice that would never arrive. Bella constantly tried to reach someone from the Cullens but to no avail. The Cullens just disappeared as if they had never existed. Since the incident in the cafeteria, Bella hadn't said a single word to Freya, yet Freya still tried to help and support her and Uncle Charlie as much as possible, even though she wasn't really coping with her own life.

Freya's father was at home less and less, and when he was there, it felt like he was a stranger. Freya was always closer to her father than her mother, but since her mother was murdered, that connection had gradually broken. This connection hardly exists anymore, which makes Freya sad, but every attempt by Freya to restore it failed miserably. The death of Freya's mother hit her father the hardest; he didn't speak or eat for days back then. However, when Freya's brother disappeared, her father seemed almost happy and relieved, which Freya still doesn't understand to this day.

Freya's brother disappeared one day without a trace. No one knew where he had gone, and after a certain time, he was declared dead. All of this happened eight years ago. Freya's brother, Ragnar, is twelve years older than Freya. Freya's connection to her brother was complicated. On one hand, she hated him, but on the other hand, she loved him too. Freya didn't quite understand why and would have liked to talk to someone about it, but she knew there was no one she could talk to. No one would understand Freya on this topic, as it was quite complicated for her. Freya didn't generally understand her own feelings. Once, Freya tried to talk to her father about it, but he sent her to a therapist whom Freya only visited once. The therapist didn't really listen to Freya, so she didn't want to go back. A week later, they found the therapist's body; she had hanged herself. After that, Freya never tried to talk to her father about her feelings again because she knew he didn't really want to listen. Freya even believed he hated her. Freya wished for someone she could talk to about everything in the world, but she had to be patient; she would find her mate eventually.

Bella finally managed to pull herself together when Uncle Charlie threatened to send her back to Aunt Renée. Freya didn't like Aunt Renée because she had left Uncle Charlie. Anyway, the threat had a positive effect on Bella's depression. She no longer locked herself in her room, ate again, and didn't look like a zombie anymore. Freya was happy for Bella. Bella still didn't talk to Freya, but Freya believed it was better that way, otherwise the goodbye would hurt too much. Freya should have prevented the contact between Edward and cousin Bella back then. She hadn't taken the problem seriously because she thought Edward would follow the rules, but he didn't. Bella had found out the secret of the vampire world, and the Cullens were to blame. They left Bella behind in Forks, a human who knew their secret, even though Carlise had promised Freya it would be taken care of. They didn't, and now Freya didn't know what to do. On one hand, Freya didn't want to kill her cousin Bella, but on the other hand, she couldn't turn her into a vampire either.

Unfortunately, the success with Jacob Black and Bella Swan was short-lived, so he quickly got out of her way again. It had something to do with his wolf or something? No idea why. Anyway, Freya had hoped that Bella would want to be friends with her again, but that wasn't the case. Bella was too obsessed with finding out what was going on with Jacob Black. Freya was 100% sure Bella would discover their secret because Bella couldn't stand it when people kept secrets from her. The Cullens hadn't exactly been discreet, at least not Edward. Bella drifted further away, so Freya had to resort to her last weapon, Bella's diary...

Entry 12
I had my first day at my new school today. Being the new girl is uncomfortable. I hate standing in the crowd... but something exciting happened today, or rather someone. Edward Cullen, a mysterious, popular loner who always stays with his family. I don't know much about him yet, but I can say one thing: the Cullens are hiding something, and I will find out what it is.

The Cullens... they are vampires! Not just Edward, but also Dr. Cullen, Alice, and all the others. But the Cullens are good vampires they feed on animals. Dr. Carlisle said they are vegetarians. And lastly, I am now with Edward... we are soulmates, we belong together... for all eternity.

As if vampires are good... but humans aren't really better either. Freya knew that Edward and Cousin Bella were not soulmates, as Bella was just Edward's "singer." Her blood magically attracted him. In some cases, singers are mistaken for soulmates.

I would like to take the next step in our relationship with Edward, but he is too afraid of hurting me. He doesn't want to turn me into a vampire either...

Entry 43
James has been defeated! Victoria managed to escape, but still, we won. The injuries I got during the fight will heal, but while I was in the hospital, I made a decision... I want to become a vampire too, just like the Cullens and just like Edward, so I can stay by his side forever. It's not fair that only Freya is a vampire; she didn't deserve it anyway. All this time, she hid something so important from me, and I thought we were close. She won't even tell me who turned her... not even the Cullens knew she was one, but I'm still grateful because without her, I wouldn't be alive now. She pulled James away from me before he could drain all my blood. Edward then sucked the venom out of the wound... I almost became a vampire, but I haven't given up hope. I will become one and then spend my immortal life with Edward.

How can someone voluntarily become a vampire? Freya had no choice; she never wanted this life!

Many days have passed? How many days and months since I could lie in your arms... it still feels like yesterday when you left me when the Cullens left me... the pain is still deep, and the only thing that reminds me of you is the bite mark on my arm...

I am hanging out with Jacob now... he helps me forget the pain for a while, and the best thing is that Freya doesn't dare come near him. I don't know why, but they both hate each other, so I want to be with him as often as possible. Freya's face makes me sick, the thought that she just got it, while I deserve it much more...

Jacob is avoiding me... his father said he was sick, but I know that's not true. Jacob is deliberately avoiding me, and I will find out why. I can't stand being in this house at the moment, Freya is always there, trying to interfere in my life. Charlie doesn't mind her being there all the time, but only because he feels sorry for her since her whole family abandoned her...

Entry 65
Laurent is dead... I was alone in the forest today, and suddenly he appeared. He originally wanted to visit the Cullens, but they have been gone for months, though he didn't seem to know that. He said Victoria wanted revenge for James's death and wanted to see me dead since Edward took her soulmate. Before Laurent could kill me, I was saved by wolves, giant wolves that tore him to pieces. Well, I think he is dead, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, these wolves can never be normal wolves... there were never bears; it was always just wolves, giant wolves...

Lol... Freya saved Laurent from certain death; before the wolves could tear his head off, Freya pulled him away. He is now back in Alaska with his mate Irina. The wolves know Freya is a vampire, but thankfully they leave her alone... Freya hates wolves, disgusting creatures. Freya had enough of reading Bella's diary, so she left. At home, Freya immediately went to sleep...
