THE COLD JANUARY AIR hit your face as you opened your bakery's door to leave, the sound of the two gold bells at the top of the door jingling. you forgot which side this onigiri guys shop was at so you guessed to the left.

nope. you were wrong. to your left was a hair and nail salon. so, you turned back around and walked maybe 20 feet to a store with a sign in front of it labeled "onigiri miya".

as you stepped inside, you saw that what miriko was talking about was right. his shop definitely had more customers than you. not even just more, it was packed. you huffed and waited in the ordering line, behind about 8 or so people.

as you made your way up the line you paid no attention to what you actually came there for, the guy. you were too busy scoping out the area, thinking petty things.

"welcome to onigiri miya, what can i get you today?" he spoke in a deep voice. first thing you notice was his looks. damnit he's hot.

ignoring your thought, you put on the nicest smile you could "hi! i work right next door to you, at 'sonny's bakery'?"

he gave you a confused look but listened nonetheless. "...okay? what can i get for you"

"oh i'm not here for the food, i was asking to see if you could like... how do i put this... maybe stop
being so popular?"

he was still looking at you, very very confused. "excuse me?"

"well, my bakery right now, which again is directly next to yours, has no customers. yet i walk in here and it's packed. i don't know what you're doing but please stop because if you don't i might go bankrupt and holy i can not be having that. i'm a college student!"

he stared at you, still confused. "im sorry?"

"you heard me, you're stealing my business." you said with arms crossed.

he again stared right at you. "ma'am, i didn't even know there was a bakery next to my shop. im sorry but if you are not here to place an order i'm going to have to ask you to leave."

with your mouth agape, then in a pout, your turned around and walked out of the store. you huffed in unsatisfaction and annoyance, but figured it was for the best since your five minutes was definitely up.

"i cant believe he didn't even know i had a shop here, and right next to his own!" you quietly muttered to yourself as you walked back into the store, the elderly woman seemingly had left as there were now zero people in the store.

as you walked behind the counter, you took a donut in hand and ate, content with your work. miriko came out of the back as soon as she noticed you were back.

"so, how did it go?" she inquired.

"he told me to leave, can you believe that! i was asking politely."

"well you know, sometimes your polite can come off as hostile."

"yea no i think he just wants customers all to himself."

as soon as the conversation topic started, it ended. though as miriko was speaking to you about something else, your mind was elsewhere.
