IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG BEFORE they got their first real lead on Loki and the Tesseract. Stuttgart, Germany. The team all huddled into a Quinjet that Natasha and Billy piloted to their destination, whilst the rest of the team tried to prepare a plan of action, although that was proving to be harder than expected, with everyone seemingly not being able to agree on how to approach the situation.
Calliope rolled her eyes as she sat back on one of the chairs in the Quinjet. Messing around with a small throwing dagger. Everyone was wearing their 'uniforms', with Natasha wearing her Black Widow jumpsuit. Billy wore his armour, equipped with secret weapons and a shield resting on his back. Tony was in his Iron Man suit, all rearing to get into action. Steve wore his old Captain America suit, his round shield in his grip. And although it looked in pristine condition, Calliope did think it seemed slightly outdated. Only her and Bruce seemed to still be in their own clothes. The doctor looking nervous as he paced the Quinjet, fiddling with the ends of his blazer. Calliope wore her red turtleneck with black pants, keeping it down from her face. Her belt that she kept secret throwing daggers in wrapped securely around her waist and her sai swords resting on her back, ready to be pulled out if things get out of hand.
She looked out the window when Billy informed them that they had reached the area. It was dark out, but the street lamps were illuminating the scene below. Loki was standing up on the steps of a museum. The Tesseract staff in his hand. A green cape bellowing out behind him and golden horns resting on top of his head. In front of him was a large crowd of people, all of them – par one – kneeling in front of him as he spoke.
"You're up, soldier," Calliope commented, patting Steve's shoulder as Natasha pressed the button to open the Quinjet, keeping it in the air as Steve sent Calliope a quick nod before he ran out of the jet, landing right in front of the only man refusing to follow the God's orders.
"You know, the last time I was in Germany, and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing," Calliope heard Steve saying through comms.
"The solider," Loki spat, "The man out of time."
"I'm not the one out of time."
As soon as Steve said that, Billy steered the Quinjet right above the God as Natasha pressed a few buttons on the control panel.
"Loki, drop the weapon and stand down," She ordered, her voice echoing through the streets.
Loki didn't listen. Instead, he lifted the staff and shot a blue flash towards the Quinjet. Billy manoeuvred it out of the way skilfully and right before it could be struck, causing Calliope to wobble on her feet and grab the back of his seat to keep herself upright. He glanced back over his shoulder at her, a silent question in his eyes. She sent him a small nod before looking back out the window, still keeping her hands on Billy's chair, just in case.
She watched as Steve used the distraction to throw the shield towards Loki, knocking him backwards as the crowd jumped to their feet, dispersing around and running off to safety as the two tousled.
"Kneel," Loki ordered as he knocked the shield out of Steve's grip.
Steve scoffed, "Not today," He said, flipping himself and kicking Loki in the jaw.
"The guy's all over the place," Natasha muttered, shaking her head.
"On it," Tony smirked.
Calliope watched as he clicked a button on the side of his head, his Iron Man helmet enveloping his face and without another word, he jumped out of the Quinjet, using his blasters to blast Loki away from a fallen Steve. Sending him backwards.
Calliope smirked as she watched his horned crown falling off of his head. A look of disbelief flashing through his eyes at the fact that he was beaten and cornered. With no means of escaping.
