"Mr. Williams, you understand that you're being placed under arrest for the murder of Angel Burgos, correct?"
The officer's voice was steady, cutting through the tension in the air. His eyes narrowed as he waited for a response, but Sincere stood silent. His gaze fixed on the cracked, peeling paint of the wall in front of him, as if the officer's words had dissolved into the background noise of the precinct. He barely blinked.
A beat passed, then another.
The officer shifted his stance slightly, the air growing heavier in the room. "Sincere," he pressed, "do you understand?"
But still, Sincere said nothing. He just kept staring, as if what was in his head was louder than anything happening outside.
"The bitch had it coming," Sincere muttered under his breath, his voice low but thick with anger. His eyes still locked on the wall, hands clenched into fists. "I told her not to leave me, and what did she do?"
"She tried to leave me," Sincere repeated, his voice colder now, as if each word carried the weight of his frustration. His jaw clenched, eyes narrowing as his gaze finally broke from the wall, flickering down to his hands. They were shaking.
"I gave her everything," he added, barely above a whisper, almost talking to himself now. "She was supposed to be mine."
The officer's grip tightened on the cuffs at his side, the tension rising. "That doesn't give you the right to take her life, Sincere," he said, carefully measuring his words. "People don't belong to you."
The officer stiffened, the weight of the confession settling in the air between them. He studied Sincere for a moment, trying to gauge if there was any hint of remorse beneath the rage. But all he saw was bitterness—deep and festering.
"You know this doesn't justify what you did," the officer said, his voice firmer now. "That doesn't make it right."
"You wanna know what's the best part, officer?" Sincere asked, his lips curling into a twisted smile, finally turning his head to face the cop. There was something unsettling in the way he spoke, like he was savoring the moment.
The officer's jaw tightened, but he didn't respond, waiting for Sincere to continue. He braced himself for whatever was coming next.Sincere leaned forward slightly, his eyes glinting with a dark satisfaction. "She begged me not to do it," he whispered, almost like it was a secret he was sharing, "but I did it anyway."
