Phil's POV
The next day I woke up and I still felt ill. My chest ached and my head throbbed. I tried sitting up but it only made my head feel worse. It seemed I had become even more sick.

A few minutes after I had awoken I heard a soft rapping noise on the door.
"Come in."

Dan came up to me and hugged me tightly and I nuzzled up by his neck.

"Are you feeling any better, do you need food?" He seemed so worried about me.

"I'm not really hungry, my stomach still hurts."
"Well, I'll go get a thermometer to check your temperature then."
"Ok thanks." I replied feeling my cheeks heating up a bit.

It took him only seconds to retrieve it and come back.

"Ok say ahh."
"Dan, do I look like a kid?"
"No, but it seems as if you need care like one."

We both laughed a little at his comment and he places the thermometer under my tongue. After a bit you could hear the beeps alarming on its result.

"37.5 C..." (99.5 F) Dan slowly read out.
"Phil your burning up! It's a fever!"

With the new alarming news Dan ran out of the room to gather some more tools.

Dan returned back in my room with a cloth, pain killers, and some fever reducers. I could now clearly see the worry and fear in my best friend's eyes as he paced around frantically.

"Bear, please calm down, I don't really feel too-"
"Phil you are not okay! You are having a fever and need treatment now!"
"Stop, please. You are giving me a headache."

Slowly he approached my bed and collapsed down next to me. All the worry he was showing for me was making me a bit sick.

"I'm sorry Phil, I guess I'm going too fast with things." Dan now looked
sorrowful and ashamed.

"It's okay, you were just trying hard to help me."

I was surprised when I was pulled closer to him and he laid his arm over my stomach. I started to see tears fill up in his eyes and fall down his cheeks.

"Dan, don't cry. I'm going to be fine, really."
"Are you sure? I've been really worried about you overnight and I just want you to feel better."
"Yes, I'm feeling a little better, so don't feel worried about me."

After I told him I was going to get better he held me tighter and I tucked my head into his neck like earlier. I felt safer whenever he was near me, and I knew I was going to be okay.

Edit: I added Fahrenheit since most readers are American & probably don't know conversions at the top of their head
