(A/N: apologies for the wait!)

-Gabriella's POV-

Ben overtakes another car and continues to drive faster to get away from a vehicle that was apparently following us. "They're not letting up." Darius says.

"Hang on." Ben says to Darius, and I.

Ben steps on it, and we go faster down the road. "Stop!" Darius tells Ben, but Ben is looking at his side mirror. "Not yet, I–" Darius cuts Ben off and gets him to look at what is on the road up ahead.

"Ben, stop!" Darius tells him.

Ben slams his foot on the break, and his van stops just inches away from a Nasutoceratops. I let out a sigh of relief while the boys were panting.

Ben suddenly exclaims as he looks out of his mirror and sees the vehicle from earlier approaching at a fast pace. It stops right behind us before the driver of the car beeps at us as they overtake us and drive away from us.

"Okay, so... Maybe it wasn't following us."

Darius slaps his forehead and groans, I just sighed deeply. After a moment of calming down, Ben starts driving again.

I wake up after having some time to sleep to a man singing in Spanish on the radio. Darius looked like he was freezing, or he might have needed to go to the toilet as he was fidgeting.

Ben offers him a ruby rope, but Darius tells him that he'd rather have a bathroom. Ben then empties out the container he had the ruby ropes in before giving it to Darius.

Darius groans.

"What?" Ben asked after slurping up his ruby rope. "I've done it dozens of times." In response to that, Darius drops the container with a shocked expression on his face.

Suddenly, we heard beeping.

"What was that?" Darius asked Ben.

"Nothing." Ben replied.

"Are we out of gas?" Darius asked.

"No. Not for thirty-seven miles." Ben responded.

"Dude, we have to stop. Look, whatever's going on, we'll be quick. I promise." Darius tells Ben.

"I agree with Darius on this, babe. We need to stop to fill the tank. And I think Darius and I would prefer to use a proper toilet." I chime in.

Ben sighs and turns on the turning signal. "Thank you. Then we can get some real licorice, not this fake stuff." Darius says, Ben groans in response.

I giggle softly in the backseat.

We turned off the road and ended up at a gas station called Mo's Gas Diesel. But as soon as we were pulling up to the gas station, we saw another Nasutoceratops. "Another Nasutoceratops?" Ben asked.

"A younger one, but big. They must be migrating from up north." Darius says.

"Maybe we should find another place to stop." Said Ben.

"Benjamin, if you don't pull over, I'll jump out of your moving van. Is that what you want?"  Darius warned Ben.

"Okay, okay, I'm pulling over."

As soon as Ben pulled into the gas station and parked, both Darius and I left the van. Minutes later, we come back to the van.

"Typical gas station bathroom. No soap, no paper towels."

"Well, at least you had water. I'm just glad I still have Ben's hand sanitiser on me."

"Can I have some?"

As I was giving Darius some hand sanitiser, we looked over and saw Ben sitting on the ground holding the pump in his hands and aiming it at us like a gun.

Ben groans and exhales.

"You two scared me." He says.

"What are you– you know what? I don't need to know why you're on the ground." Darius says.

Ben quickly gets up to his feet and whispers, "we need to get out of here."

"Right after we get gas. "Pay cashier." I'll be right back." Darius replies. Darius walks back to head inside the gas station building, I decided to stay with Ben.

"Wait, Darius. Darius! Darius! Darius."

Darius heads over to the attendant of the gas station, Ben tries to hide behind something as the man talks to Darius.

"You see that dinosaur, and you still stopped?"

As he was responding to the question, Darius hands him some money. "Well, we didn't really have a choice."

"You know, I phoned the DPW to come collect that thing, but they're getting so many calls. They don't know when they can get out here." The man looks over at Ben. "Is, uh, your friend, okay?" He asked.

Darius looks back at Ben, who hides before returning to the gas station attendant. "No." He replies, I walk over to Darius and the gas station owner.

"You three look familiar."

"Oh, um, yeah, we're kinda–"

Ben suddenly comes up from behind us and interrupts Darius. "Probably just have one of those faces. Uh, three of those faces." I slap my hand on my face after hearing him say that.

"No. I know you. You're those kids who were on that island. The something seven." He says to us.

"Nublar Seven." Darius corrects him.

"Yeah, yeah, good talk. We really gotta go." Ben says as he begins to pull Darius and I away. "Let's move. I don't trust them." Ben adds as he lets go of Darius but still holds onto my hand.

"The gas station attendant?"

"I heard them on the phone. They called someone about us."

"Dude, they called someone about the dinosaur."

"Or they're trying to stall us."

Hey everyone, firstly, I wanna apologise for the delay in updating my book. I was originally taking time away for myself, just to give myself time to refresh. If that makes any sense?

But then, when I was thinking about making a return, something else happened. A member from a band I used to love as a teen passed away. So I've been taking time away from posting any new updates because my head's not in the game right now.

I also apologise if the chapter is short, I really wanted to get something out so you guys have something to read. But, truthfully, I don't know when I'll be going to update again.

You've reached the end of published parts.
