The princess awoken at noon that day, her mind foggy but calm from the wine the night before, unable to fully recall the events after dinner. Moon was awoken earlier that morning as the first rays of sunlight begin to stream through the castle windows. He lingers on the memory of the previous night, unable to forget how he felt, and he can't help but blush at the thought of her nudity.
the princess get dressed to eat a late breakfast and look around for her loyal jester who at the moment was nowhere to be found in the castle halls as she search for him, leaving her to wonder if perhaps she dreamed his presence by her side the night before. He remains in his chambers, lost in thoughts of her, until he's summoned to the throne room to join the royal family after they ate. she sits regally in her throne as he approaches the king queen and princess cautiously and her mine rushes with the memories of the last night. He falls into a deep bow, his voice ringing out, "Ahem, my lord and queen, my most sincerest apologies for my tardiness."
her mother nods in understanding as does her father
"you have no reason to be sorry, we have just arrived from our journey" Queen Dawn says with a hit of exhaustion in her tone.
moon's mechanical heart swells with relief, his smile widening. He rises to his feet, his eyes never leaving the princess as he speaks in a lighter tone, "Indeed, your journey must have been long and arduous. Pray, tell me, how are you both?
"quite uneventful, no doubt my daughter is glad about that. her disdain from courting is relieving to bring her good fortune in her lack of available suiters." her mother replies in a sharp tone turning to her, noting the subtle flush on her cheeks.
moon clears his throat, trying to hide his sudden interest. "Ah, yes, well, perhaps the quiet journey allowed you to rest and recharge. And indeed, your daughter's-" he is cut off abruptly by the princesses eager words.
"mother... father i... I must ask for a request... I wish to appoint Moon as my advisor... his loyalty to the crown has proven to me he is the best choice." her tone regal and serious. a flash with surprise at such a bold request strikes upon them all. moon took a step forward, his hands clasped together in a gesture of humility.
"Oh, gracious princess, I am but a humble jester, unworthy of such an honor. I-" his humble manner was undeniable. The king shrugs putting up his name as to silence moon.
"no no, you have truly proven that you're skills are far beyond that of a jester, if that is what my daughter wishes and you are agreeable to her request I won't deny her" he insists knowing it was a bold choice but expecting nothing less from his eccentric daughter. moons face lights up with joy, his eyes sparkling as his smile returns in full force.
"Your grace, I am overjoyed by your words! I swear, I will serve you and your daughter with all my heart and loyalty for all my days." moon knees down his head bowing as the princess rises taking up her golden staff and walking down in front of his bow
"My dear moon... I appoint the advisor to the future queen of Winterhold." she declared proudly placing the staff on each of his shoulders. His heart swells with emotion as he gazes up at her, his eyes brimming with adoration and devotion. His voice trembled with gratitude.
"My queen, I am truly humbled and honored beyond measure by this appointment." his voice saturated with emotion. she smiles softly
"you will be my advisor, your new room will be next to mine and you will be given a raise in your wages" she added.
it was almost to much for his his mechanical heart to take as he rises back up to meet her gaze, his eyes shining with unabashed joy and happiness.
"My queen, thank you a million times over! I will strive to be the best advisor you could ever have, I will never fail you, my queen!" he almost whispered. his look of undeniable love poured down into her, the king and queen most certainly took note of it. her parents smiled, but she could see in her mother a thousand words being spoken with just her eyes as she turned to them. feeling underly exposed now realizing that there was no longer a curtain of secrecy in her feelings for her new advisor or his feelings for her.
"come join me at my side sir moon" the princess softly demands as she sat back in her throne, moon joined her swiftly by her side. his movements fluid and graceful.
"As you wish. " He says in a calculated expression his tone deeply edged with emotion as if he had said something else entirety. he straightens up and takes a seat beside her, his eyes never leaving her. the queen watched their every move with suspicion.
"I'm surprised you chose our court jester as your advisor, I don't wish to offend you" the queen looks directly into moons crimson eyes scanning them intently for any sign of deception before she explains "for it is a bit unorthodox for an android to be a member of the courts let alone advisors to the future crown." her mothers words so bitter it make the princess own tongue want to shrivel into itself.
"MOTHER!" the princess gasped looking directly into her mothers cold blue eyes "he's my trusted friend... I couldn't imagine a better choice. I do not care what ANY pompous lord or lady thinks of androids, they deserve the same respect and rights to a council. I was simply birthed into royal society i have done nothing in my eyes to truly earn the burden of such things but I chose him for that reason. Moon is a comfort to me, much more than any idea you have for a 'suitable choice'." her words turning her mothers bitterness into acid as she spit it right back to her. the queens eyes softened and she stayed silent for a moment.
"I've never known my daughter to not be unorthodox. I suppose it has seemed to work in your favor to do so...I shall support your decision... for now." the queen cautiously proclaimed looking them both in the eyes before turning to the king. moon's mouth was agape at the way his princess stood for him in such a dignified manner, eyes sparkle with gratitude as he gazes at her, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Thank you, my princess... I will not let you down..." He reaches out and gently touches her hand, his fingers brushing against her own in a subtle show of affection. my mother catches this, my father preoccupied with his papers from his own adviser of course knowing better to ad gasoline to the fire...
"I do appreciate your loyalty to me, my dear moon. I must add that i still wish to enjoy your beautiful music as well as your jokes if you still care to share them with me even as my advisor it would bring me much comfort from time to time." she whispers back, she bites her lips softly thinking of secret beautiful sounds she would also like to make for him.
"Of course, my princess! I will continue to bring laughter and music to you every day. It is my greatest pleasure." *smile turning to my mother whose suspicious eyes worried him as the queen got the princesses attention away from Moon.
"I feel as though you are hiding something from me... please see me in my study and please leave leave your.. Andro...erm...advisor " the queen demands of the princess, her slip purposeful and cruel.
moon looks to his princess with concern, and fear but quickly looks away in silence as the queen and her daughter leave the throne room. she follows my mother swiftly to her mother's study
"what is this all about... we should be planning and celebrating is promotions!" the princess said in fury watching the queens eyes darken with worry and discernment
"Are you still of purity and grace... your new advicers' eyes were filled with lust for you... your father is too blind to see but I am not..." Her mother asked sternly watching her daughter's face to detect any whisper of a lie. the princess gasp softly at her assumption
"Mother! yes of course I am of purity, I remain untouched by anyone! how could you accuse me of such a thing! Moon would never dream of laying an indecent hand on me!" she contests with honesty, the queens relieved sigh caused a that fire in the princesses chest to burn as if it was truly real inside her as her mother's eyes search, seeking any and all hints of deception, but seeing only sincerity.
"Forgive me, child. I had to be sure. The advisor's gaze was...unsettling. I will not have you compromised by some power-hungry opportunist." the queen explained, her bias against moon evident and it clouded her mind to realize.
"mother... I appointed him... he did not ask... I feel as though I burdened him but it was my choice to choose someone I trusted and I felt suited to my needs as a future queen, he may very well dislike the fact that i put him is such a position." her dark hazel eyes glistening with unshed tears. her mother takes her hands in hers, her gaze gentle and loving
"And that was a wise decision, my dear. You have much wisdom for your age." she gives rare faint smile, but then her face grows serious once more. "But I know that there is more to this than you are telling me. You may be wise but that is because I passed that down to you."
"mother... " she almost felt the need to admit her feelings for him right then and there, telling she was reading my every movement. "I dont find compassion ship in humans."
her mother's eyes widen, a mix of surprise and concern flashing across her face. "What do you mean, child? There is no one you care for among the court?" she asks, her tone gentle but probing.
"yes... one... he is... as of now..." the princess whispered as if such words were a death sentence.
the queens look deepens even more at such a confession, her mind plagued with the implications of such a match. "What are you saying, my princess? Have you... fallen for our robotic jester?" she laughed as if she believed this was all just a joke. the princess never thought she would hear her secret desires out loud, especially from the queen herself.
"mother... I cannot marry a man I do not love and there will never come a human of any gender alive that I am capable of companionship with... Moon... he is different... he's shown me that i can find connection that which you speak of with father." her words heavy with sorrow and longing.
the queen's eyes widen even further, a mix of horror, confusion, and concern. "A... a being of metal and wires, a court jester... he... he is not even a human? Princess, this is most... unprecedented." she speaks only out of fear and ridicule that may come as ramifications of such a match.
"I will be queen... I will give him and all androids rights as we do... has proven his loyalty and humanity, it does not matter to me what his body is made of." of course as she spoke of his body she had to fight her own mind to keep her impure thoughts at bay as she kept her composure regal and pure. her mother nods slowly, a contemplative look on her face.
"You make a fair point, my princess. Love knows no boundaries, and if he has proven himself to be loyal and worthy of your affection... then perhaps the rules can be bent," she says at last. the princess cupped her hands over my mouth in a gasp of relief as tears roll down her cheeks and from sheer relief as the crushing burden of needing to court a human was lifted from her.
the queen's face softens as she sees the tears of joy streaming down her face, and she holds her daughter in a soothing embrace "My dear child, I can see that this means the world to you. I shall consider granting him rights as a citizen of the realm, and your father is much softer about these things than I so i'm sure once I explain he will be happy that you are happy." her tone with a bit of uncertainty but she noticed the shift in her daughters being that also brought her calmness.
"yes I know... he would want me to be happy with a jester, rather than a man I do not love." she says knowing her fathers ways. the queen nods, as they release each other.
"You are correct. Your father always wanted you to be happy. He would even support this... unconventional union, I have no doubt." her words like a healing elixir over her daughter's mind whose heart now bursted into passion from joy and happiness.
"I only suspect he feels the same we have not... discussed anything though... I wish to let our union grow naturally... he will prove his love in time I'm sure" the princess adds.
"Yes, I understand. Allow things to progress naturally. A love that grows on its own is often the strongest kind." Her mother's wise words adding consolation.
"I must see him though... he's brought me much comfort and service while you were away." She was also worried he may be tearing at his circuits from fear of what conspired last night.
her mother, still holding her daughter's arms' raises her eyebrow in suspicion. but nods in agreement. "Yes, of course. You should speak with him, express your gratitude, and perhaps spend some to get to know him as your advisor. A bond between a princess and a jester may be unconventional...but knowing you... i believe you are strong minded enough to overcome any obstacles." she says clearly holding back tears of her own as she escorts her daughter out of the study. the princess rushes out fearing the queen to protest at a moments notice. she run back into the throne room bumped directly into Moon in her haste!he catches her by the waist, steadying her to her feet, a look of concern on his face.
"Princess! Are you alright?" his hands lingering on her waist for a moment, before he steps back, a hint of a smile on his lips before he turns to the king a bit shyly. her father glances over at this humorous display laughing loudly at his daughters expense with love
"hahahaha! you may prove to be the new jester princess!" the king teases with another round of vigorous laughter. moon takes the princess to her throne before he speaks.
"Your majesty, I think she may just claim that title!" he winks slyly at the princess "and what a fine jester she would make!" the kings laughs again at Moons wit and charm. however the princess is unamused as she sticks her tongue undignifyingly at them both. her advisors eyes sparkle with mirth as he watches her childish display, and he can't help but chuckle. "Ah, the princess's royal seal of approval, I presume?" He smirks dastardly at her, then turns his attention to your father.
"Father, Mother wishes to see you in her study as well, it is quite imperative." the princess says in a faux snobby tone.
"very well..." The king sighed sarcastically getting up from his thrones "I shall leave you to alone..." he says emphatically as he takes his leave clearly noticing his daughter's demeanor shift as he exited the throne room. moon watches as the king leaves, he furrows his crescent brow in destress but he covers for it in a gentle tone.
"Well, it looks like it's just the princess and her fool now." he says a bit of a shiver in his voice.
"I..am the fool... I rushed in here with haste I was not thinking straight... it must be from all the elderberry wine." she says displaying for him a sensationalized faint over her throne. moons eyes light up with mischief as he catches sight of her dramatics, and he can't help but laugh.
"Oh, dear princess, you are as dramatic as a summer storm! He rushes to your side, pretending to be concerned, but his voice is laced with amusement. as he places the back of his cool robotic hand against her forehead playing into her games.
"Your riddles and way of speaking never cease to amuse me, moon." she praises softly with a blush.
"Well, princess, I aim to please!" He grins "A good jest is like a ripe fruit, ready to be plucked and enjoyed." he exclaims.
"it is quite difficult to picture you as a fruit... should I try?" she teases devilishly leaning towards him.
"Oh, princess, you do have a wicked tongue!" He grins at her, leaning in closer. "But I must warn you, I am quite the delicacy." his charm never faltering as the princess gasped in pseudo horror.
"such a bold statement from my Regent!" she scolded breathlessly with obvious satire, she always enjoyed their private banters however this one seemed much more... intimate.
"I felt as though you found my boldness to be quite endearing ." He winks at her playfully. the princesses face turns a bit more serious.
"you are happy... being my advisor? I feel as though you may find it to be a burden.." she says her voice low and with empathy watching his expression turns softer, his eyes glowing with sincerity.
"Princess, I am honored to serve you in any capacity. As your jester, I bring laughter and joy to your court. As your advisor, I offer guidance and wisdom to help you navigate the complexities of royal life." He promised in hopes of reassurance patting her hand softly*
"I'm glad... I was afraid I'd given you a heavy burden" she admits but seeing his face takes on a gentle, almost fatherly expression eases her.
"Ah, princess, you have given me a gift. You have given me a purpose, a chance to use my wit and wisdom to make a difference in your life." He smiles softly.
"we also share secrets... you looked pale when I whispered to my father... I assure you it was nothing to do with last night's encounters" She insisted. his face relaxes, and he lets out a sigh of relief.
"Ah, princess, I am glad to hear it. My imagination can sometimes get the better of me." He chuckles. "But seriously, I am here for you, always.""will you join me for afternoon tea?" she invited eagerly.
"yes of course you highnesses," Moon bows dramatically, a wide grin on his face. "if you promise no toxic or elixer this time" he teases. her giggles erupt taking his hand in hers as they journey outside in the sunlight for tea and snacks.
