I awoke to my dimly lit hospital room. My first thought was to sit up and look around, but i found that I could not because my hands and feet were bound to my bed.
What the heck?
I strained my neck and scanned the room. Squinting, I made out a dark figure slumped in a chair in the farthest corner that looked to be sleeping...strange.
I let out an irritated groan and lightly struggled with my bonds. As soon I did, the figure stirred and stumbled toward me and I, a pathetic excuse of a human being, responded with an involuntary whimper.
Ok not sleeping, I repeat NOT SLEEPING! PLAY DEAD DANNON!
I squeezed my eyes shut as the figure drew nearer and I began to shake.
Why am I reacting this way?
-I'm not sure.-
Well that helps.
"Dannon?" The figure whispered as "it" neared the bed.
"W-what?" I whimpered again. Geez, I sound so vulnerable.
-Because you are.-
Shut up.
"It's Leo."
"O-oh." I let out a sigh of relief. I peeled open my eyes and looked at him, and continued to shake. His face looked grim, scary almost.
"W-what's g-going o-on?"
He didn't respond. Instead, he pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down.
"L-leo?"
"Do you remember anything that happened when Lukea took over this time?"
"N-no, w-why?" I stopped shaking.
What did you do to me?
- I sent you into your own mind...like made you pass out.-
Why?
-Because you wouldn't cooperate.-
"L-lukea s-said i-i p-passed o-out."
"Good to know."
"W-what's g-going on?"
Again he didn't respond, giving me a hard look. I whimpered and looked away. What is wrong with me? I'm reduced to a emotional wreck!
-I told you that you were emotionally unstable.-
I didn't respond. Instead, I stared at the wall opposite of Galileo. Then I started to tremble. AGAIN.
"Look, at least I know it wasn't you talking."
I snapped my head back to look at him.
"What. Did. He. Say." He looked taken aback by my sudden outburst of anger when I was a scared mess just a few seconds ago.
"Oh...um. Will Lukea take over?"
"I-I d-don't t-think s-so..." Back to stuttering...yay.
"Ok..." He took a deep breath.
"He told me to back off...to stop being your friend. He said that you don't need me to help you remember and that you would be better off without me..." He paused.
"Y-you k-know t-that i-isn't t-true. I-if a-any th-thing, i-i w-would b-be w-worse."
"I told him that and he got angry. He started to get very violent and it got out of control. Hence, why you're tied up."
Why would you do that?!
- I'm not sure. Something came over me and I couldn't resist it.-
Rage issues much?
-Shut your face.-
"H-he s-said h-he c-couldn't c-control h-hims-self."
I'm getting really tired of this stuttering.
-You and me both.-
Be quiet.
"Hmmmm...I don't really know what to say to that."
"T-then d-don't." With that, we sat in silence. Awkward...
"W-what h-happened a-at s-school w-while i-i w-was g-gone?" I swear, my stutter is getting worse.
"Well, right after you passed out, everyone kinda went into a panic. Even the paramedics had a hard time getting through the mass of people that crowded around the room." He smirked as he reached over to untie the bonds around my hands.
"B-but w-why?"
"Dude, you may not know this but you're pretty popular. When they carried you away on the stretcher, almost all the girls broke down in tears and most of the guys looked like they were about to."He laughed, moving on to my feet.
"A-are y-you s-serious?! T-that's c-crazy." I giggled.
"Ta da! You are now free! And you wouldn't believe how many people asked about you too." He said, dusting his hands. "Look around, they even sent you stuff."
Taking his word, I found boxes and baskets lining all the walls and letters spilling over the few tables present.
"Whoa."
"Whoa is right, dude, they love you. I'm not sure why though." He chuckled.
-Well look who's popular. I wonder who sent you all these.-
"The whole school sent them to you." Leo eyed me weirdly.
"W-what?"
"You asked me who sent them to me. They sent them to you!"
"I-I d-didn't ask y-you t-that."
- I believe you are thinking out loud. I think he can hear me when that happens.-
"L-lukea s-said t-that. I w-was j-just thinking o-out l-loud."
"That is really weird." I nodded in response.
"E-everything i-is g-going t-to c-change." I whispered to Leo, not taking my eyes off the massive amount of gifts.
"You got that right... but you can't go back to school yet. First, you have to get out of this hospital."
That's not what I meant, but ok.
"O-oh r-right. W-when d-do i-i g-get o-out?"
"Tomorrow."
""W-what? B-but the d-doctor s-said- "
"Lukea put you out for a few days." He interrupted with a hint of annoyance.
WHAT?!
-Look, I didn't mean to alright? It was only supposed to be until I was done speaking to Leo.-
WHAT HAPPENED THEN?
"I think it was because Lukea got you sedated when he went berserk." Leo answered, looking a bit scared. I gave him a confused look.
"Thinking out loud again, dude. It's very weird to hear."
"I-i b-bet."
"You know when you think out loud, you don't stutter? I can also hear Lukea...which confuses me because he has a different voice." I nodded in agreement.
What's wrong with me?
- You're a loony...AND you're not on any drugs!-
I heard Leo chuckle.
-Oh shit...-
He started to laugh harder.
"I can hear everything you're saying!" He gasped inbetween breaths.
"S-shut u-up."
"You guys are hilarious!"
- You should of heard us when we were in a coma, then. That was the definition of hilarity.-
No it wasn't! That was the definition of annoying!
"You two fight like an old married couple."
-True.-
I should stop thinking out loud...
"Agreed."
