Brian stared at her face with pure shock, a sudden desperation invades him and suddenly he felt like running from the awkward situation.
"Hey.." He swallowed hard. "Come in- please" He welcomed her in nervously.
She looks at her surroundings and Brian stands there freaking out, feeling unprepared to deal with this, like he needed you by his side as it all suddenly feels too real while they stand in front of each other and he feels the urge to immediately leave the room and freak out by himself.
"I'm gonna put on a shirt" He said but Sasha is quick to interrupt him. She knows him well.
"Don't worry, your abs never really did anything for me" She smirked and it breaks the ice.
"You haven't changed one bit, have you?" He knowingly looks at her, allowing a smile to appear.
"Probably not. You though..." She breaks a smirk.
"Yeah, I would hope so" He sighed. "Can I get you something to drink?" He stood awkwardly.
"I'm okay, Brian" She chuckled lightly, noticing how nervous he was about this. "Shall we?" Sasha motioned to the couch and he nods.
"Oh- sure, sure..." They walk over to the couch, sitting on each end of it.
"I'm sorry to invade your lovely house this early, but I feel like we need to get some stuff out of our way before we do anything with (Y/N)" She started and he smiled softly.
"It's fine, Sass" He sighed.
"You're still the only person to call me that" She smiled knowingly.
"Good to know, sassy Sass" He smiled big.
"Congrats on the engagement" She said with a smug tone but he could tell she truly meant it.
"Thank you... so?" He looked at her with big eyes.
"So what?" She frowned.
"Hit me... what do you think about all this?" He tensed up as he looked at her, afraid of what she would say, still remembering the harsh words she said to him in the past.
"I'm proud of you" She said with compassion, no teasing him, just the pure sentiment based on what she's been told and what she sees in front of her.
"Do you mean it?" He looked at her with big eyes and an uncertainty to his tone.
"Did I ever lie to you?" She raised a brow.
"No, never" He sighed.
"Take the compliment then" She insisted.
"I know- it's just that it gets a whole new meaning when you say it" He explained. "It already does with her- but I know you're only saying it because you truly believe it. So, yeah... I'm relieved"
"You have no ideia how great it is to see you doing good. I can only speak for me and (Y/N), but it makes us so happy and we care so much about you, we always did... I always did" She sighs.
"That's probably the nicest thing you've ever said about me" He smiled softly.
"Well, don't get used to it" She recovered and he rolled his eyes with a knowing smile.
"Did you really always care?" He questioned.
"Did you ever think I didn't care?" She raised a brow with curiosity in her gaze.
"Oh, yeah" He scoffed. "You've said some brutal things in the past" He reminded her, hoping this talk could heal the wounds of the past.
"I know and I'm sorry, Brian- but you deserved it. God, you deserved it. You were such an asshole, man. You're lucky she loves you this much because I don't know if I'd be able to come back after all that..." She told him. "And I know it wasn't all your fault and I get that but you weren't going through that when I met you- you allowed it to be a problem when you could have at least tried to back away the second you realized how volatile it all could be"
