She was supposed to be at home, comfortably nestled on the couch or perhaps bustling in a café-serving each customer with a bright smile that everyone couldn't help but mirror.
But what if her life changed in just one unfortunate night?
What if she woke up and found herself locked in a dark, musty room?
A room with no lights. Everything was pitch black. She couldn't see anything. She could only picture the room in her head: full of girls with rusty chains on their wrists and old steel bars separating them, creating a haunting symphony of despair.
No food and no water. She was starving. They were all starving.
They begged for help, their voices desperate echoes in the suffocating darkness. But it seemed like no one could hear them. It was as if they were all chained and locked there forever, lost in a nightmare without end.
It had been less than a week since she was forcibly confined, but she hadn't glimpsed the face of their captor. Not yet.
Not until one eerie evening, when they heard the heavy door creak open and footsteps echoing through the cold silence.
Panic surged through every girl, yet she somehow managed to stay calm. While others sobbed and huddled against the cold walls, she remained still, observing, waiting for what would come next.
But her facade cracked when she caught sight of two glowing red dots in the darkness, resembling eyes fixed upon them from the shadows.
Fear gripped her like icy talons, freezing her in place, stealing the very air from her lungs.
And then, a deep, chilling voice pierced the darkness.
"Tomorrow marks the day you may become useful. Prepare yourselves for the upcoming full moon, my dear viands."
"Let us go! You can't do this to us! You monster!" a girl screamed defiantly, her voice trembling with rage and fear. Others joined in, pleading for release.
Their cries were abruptly silenced by a sickening sound, like bones snapping, followed by a shrill, agonized scream that tore through the oppressive silence.
She gasped, tears streaming down her face, horror and helplessness flooding her senses.
"Do you wish to join her in hell?" the voice taunted, dripping with cruelty.
The girls had no choice but to cower in fear.
"Now, behave and keep your lips sealed, or face the consequences" he warned before retreating footsteps faded into the distance, leaving them alone once more, with only the oppressive darkness and their mounting terror.
Her head filled with questions; Who is he? What does he want from them? And what are they?
Aiah couldn't do anything, so instead, she prayed silently. She prayed to God for a miracle, for everyone's safety, and for a way to escape.
