The white light shone bright against bare, white metal- the walls, the equipment, everything. All except for the surface of the red planet itself through the window, once again reminding Joel of how far away he was from everything he knew- his home, his family, his Lego. In a single moment he was aware of two things- first the sudden change in air pressure that made his ears pop and his head tight. The second thing was a tugging feeling in his chest. His vision dimmed and swam, shortly before going completely black. He shook violently, twitching here and there, feeling somehow overwhelmed and subconscious, like a dark and empty dream.And finally, he felt pain, everywhere and nowhere all at once, like his spirit was slowly being mauled to death. That was exactly the case. He had been possessed by an alien without physical form.
Then suddenly, he jerked his eyes open, now totally grey. He surveyed the room, contemplating his next plan of action.
