"Can I know why you're reading about Obliviating Charms so diligently?" asked Cedric, looking down from his study book.
Nicolás shrugged with his head resting on Cedric's lap. "You never know if someone will hear something they shouldn't," he said, not taking his eyes from the pages.
They had decided to move one of the long couches from their common room nearer to the small fireplace, being rewarded with soft heat.
"Don't you think you're overdoing yourself? Wearing yourself out a bit too much?" Cedric said in a soft and worried voice, threading his calloused but still gentle fingers on Nicolás' black hair.
Nicolás closed his eyes with a content sigh, basking in the contact, before opening them, looking up at Cedric, right into his favorite honey pools.
"I don't—"
"You'll be sitting twelve O.W.L.s; you take more classes than anyone else; you take time off your weekends to tutor Neville, Harry, even Hermione, and let's not even talk about all your family drama," replied Cedric.
"There's no such thing as drama in my family, Ced," Nicolás corrected him, earning a raised eyebrow.
"So you and Caelum being fidgety and jumpy has nothing to do with the winter break?" and Nicolás was left speechless. "I know something happened and that there's a reason you've decided not to tell me, but that doesn't mean I'm oblivious to you or anything related to you,"
And it wasn't like Nicolás wanted to tell him how he and Caelum almost died in a fool's errand, trying to play the freaking heroes after arguing they shouldn't. And least of all was he going to tell Cedric about Regulus.
"I worry, you know," Cedric finished, tracing the contour of Nicolás chin with the back of his fingers, and softly gracing his thumb over his cheek.
Blushing, Nicolás pressed his face against Cedric's hardened belly, grumbling something incoherent against the boy's shirt. Cedric barked a laugh, closing his own book, before moving to tickle Nicolás' side.
Nicolás was forced to wriggle like a worm because damned be his sensitivity to tickles. His cheeks hurt and he could barely breathe.
"What did you say?" Cedric asked, before another storm of tickles rained on Nicolás' belly and sides.
"Stop! Stop! Have mercy on me!" Nicolás squealed in between laughs, slapping Cedric's thighs. "Yourmyboyfriendsoiexpectedit."
"What?!" Cedric laughed, before unleashing another round of tickles. "Say it! Say it again!"
"Okay! Okay! I yield!" and under Cedric's overexcited eyes, Nicolás grumbled, "You're my boyfriend, I expected you to worry about me," he did his best to avoid Cedric's eyes, as his face was stubbornly on fire.
With a wide Cheshire cat smile, Cedric leaned down, close enough to grasp Nicolás nose in between his lips, leaving a small kiss on its tip. "I love it when you say that," he whispered.
"That you're my boyfriend, boyfriend?" Nicolás said with a smirk.
In their closeness, Cedric had the perfect spot to grace the tip of his nose up and down the bridge of Nicolás' nose.
"I have something to show you," he whispered.
"Oh, yeah?" Nicolás whispered back. "Tell me more."
"Hold a minute," Cedric replied, untangling himself from Nicolás and standing up, before rushing up the stairs and toward their dorm.
