It was the next afternoon. You spent your day by the beach and by the pool drinking, tanning and relaxing. You saw the small group of your new friends by the pool during the day and hung out a bit before you split up again.
The small group was sitting under a campana.
"She's a closed off woman, maybe she's just been through some shit." Derek said as they spoke about Y/n.
"Do we even know where she's from?" Penelope questioned.
Everyone exchanged looks before looking back at Penelope.
"Exactly. I'm telling you there's something off about her." Penelope said.
"I think you're just saying that because she makes you nervous when she makes googly eyes at you." Derek joked.
She softly punched his arm before they all chuckled.
You were sitting on the beach on a chair just staring into the ocean.
Ring Ring Ring
You rolled your eyes as you looked at your phone.
Jack
"You have to be fucking kidd-" You mumbled as you answered. "Hello, Jack."
"Boss."
"I'm pretty sure I was clear when I said I didn't want to be bothered for the rest of my vacation." You said sternly.
"I know. I'm sorry. But we have another job. Paul Wilson."
You sat up in your seat. "You have a location on Paul?" You asked.
Killing Paul Wilson would be one of your biggest accomplishments. The absolute disgusting man he was for raping young girls, he deserved everything he had coming for him.
"Yes. I told you we would get him. We're looking at about seven hundred thousand." He said through the phone.
You slid your tongue across your teeth as you laid back in your seat. "I would do this one for free. The money is just the cherry on top." You smirked. "Thanks Jack, I'll see you soon."
"Anything for you, boss." He said.
You hung up and put your phone back in your bag as you took a deep breath. Now you had something to look forward too when you got back.
"Oh, hey." A familiar voice said from behind you.
You looked over and saw Penelope now standing beside you. You softly smiled as your eyes landed on her. "Hey. Where is everyone?" You asked.
"They're all doing their own thing. I just came here to relax— enjoy the beach." She sat down on the chair next to you.
"Sitting by the ocean always helps me clear my head." You said as you looked forward.
"Yeah." She said before pausing for a moment. "Where are you from?" She asked.
You looked over at her. "Virginia. I grew up there but when I got a bit older I started traveling. Now I'm just kind of all over the place." You answered honestly while looking back out into the ocean.
"So, where are you living now?" She asked.
"I've been in Italy these past couple of months. I have a villa there." You answered honestly again. "I haven't been back to Virginia in about eight months." You looked over at her. "What about you?"
"I live in Virginia." She softly smiled.
Your expression softened. "Maybe I'll have a reason to visit." Your eyes wandered down to her lips before looking back up into her eyes.
