Small headcanon. Ya know the Watcher/Listener masks? I always thought of it as, whenever Jimmy, Martyn, Pearl, or Grian wanted, they could go into this, like, half Watcher/Listener state when their wings turn purple/green and are a bit bigger. Their eyes also would turn purple/green and they could use some of their powers, but thats it. But, they would always have their mask on them (and when they died, the mask would stay on them like keep-inventory) and if they put the mask on, they would go, like, full on watcher/listener like how they are normally depicted in other fanfics. THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER!
