𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞

The young man opened his eyes as they slowly adjusted to the bright lights. He looked down to see his right wrist cuffed to a pipe on the wall.

He groans as he looks around the room. The pipes were rusted and the paint on the walls were chipping. There were a few boxes scattered across the room. Probably an old storage room that hasn't been used in ages.

The door opens as a black man with an eyepatch and a auburn haired girl in a leather jacket enter the room. The girl stands by the door as the eyepatched man sets a chair in front of the young man as he takes a seat.

"Good morning, sunshine. Hope you're rested up."

The young man glances at the figure before him. "Where am I, who're you?"

"Where we are is classified to you, I'm Director Fury and this is Agent Phoenix."

The boy's gaze reaches the girl's as his eyes linger on her. "She you're girl scout?"

Her stare grows stern as she answers the boy. "I'm here to knock you on your ass if you try something."

The cuffed man simply humms in response. Fury clears his throat as they draw their attention back to him. Fury tosses something at the boy as he catches it with his free hand. He looks down at the item to be a dog tag. The name writen on it:

Y/N L/N

"What's this?" He questions as he looks back to Fury.

"That is who you are Mr L/N. We nicked it off you when we found you."

"Found me? Where?"

Agent Pheonix speaks up, her tone softer than before but still hostile.
"A Hydra base, underground, just on the outskirts of Berlin."

"Hydra?"

The Director and Agent look at eachother confused.

"How much do you remember, L/N? From the war, your life."

He closed his eyes, trying his hardest to remember anything about himself, about the world.

"I- I- nothing. All I'm drawing are blanks. I remember nothing."

"Agent Pheonix will get you up to speed on world history. For now we'll get you settled in."

Y/N looks down at his cuffed wrist as he looks at the two.

"What makes you think I'd go anywhere with you, let alone work with you?"

Fury leaned in towards the young man.

"Because you have no where else to go. You don't even know who you are. Let us help you. You can have a life. Help us do some good. Change the world for the better."

Y/N looked down as gathered his thoughts. Fury was right, he has no life, doesn't even know who he is. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, at least until he finds the answers he's looking for.

He looked up at Fury then to Pheonix, though his gaze lingered on her, taking in all of her features. He nods his head slowly.

"If I have one life might as well do some good. Okay, I'm in."

Fury got up and walked towards the door.

"Good, I'm giving Pheonix the job to look out for you, get you settled in."

The Agent walked over to Y/N and knelt down unlocking the cuffs. Her gaze met his as she gave a light smirk.

"Let's go get that life of yours started."

Y/N chuckled as they left the room together.

Fury's office door clicked shut as he took a seat at his desk. He logged on to his computer, scrolling through Y/N's file he had compiled. Suddenly a screen pops up with Y/N's blood results.

Fury sat back in his chair slightly surprised by the founding. He couldn't possibly be his son, there's no record of the man having children.

Just then Agent Pheonix walked through the door. Fury looked up trying to mask his expression.

"How's our new recruit?"

Pheonix stuffed her hands in her jacket pocket.

"Well, the decades of war took him by surprise. He's still trying to process everything, but he seems ok."

"Good, because you're gonna be by his side from now on. Train him, make him feel welcome."

She nodded. "Yes sir."

Fury moved Y/N's file to a folder. Many other name's were on the list. The file name, Avengers Initiative.

Before Pheonix made her exit Fury called out. "Agent, you're on of the few people I trust so I need you to promise me that what I'm about to tell you, stays between us."

Agent Pheonix looked up at the Director. "I promise."
