"What is the point of us staying here again?"
"You know why."
I slam my book shut and look at Mila. We've since left the Salvatore house. I couldn't stand the constant bickering between Mila and Damon.
"You didn't leave here with Klaus.. which leads me to believe you truly think the Topaz Witch is here."
Klaus left town. He paid a visit to me before he did. He wanted me to leave with him even after everything that happened between us.
I couldn't. It took everything in me to leave him before. I made peace with the fact we wouldn't be together. I didn't think I'd ever see him again, at least not so soon.
"She has to be here."
"And the great evil that is coming is who exactly?"
I've shared of my life with Mila. From me turning into an Original Vampire to the very first time I fed on someone.
But I've always kept some things from her. Including my sole purpose on this planet. I wasn't born to kill the Originals, I made.
Since the dawn of time I had been prophesied. A witch with impossible power. Keeping my magic and powers when I was transformed into an Original Vampire, shouldn't have been possible. I'd made me the first and only Tribrid.
"Time will tell." I say. "We are having company today."
"Wanda?"
Mila had always had this weird, almost jealousy towards Wanda. I've long considered Mila my closest friend, a sister even.
But Wanda, I have considered almost a daughter. I found her when she was six. She unintentionally killed her entire adoptive family. They didn't know what she was and neither did she.
One mistaken outburst turned into a massacre. I felt it from across the planet. Her power was and is extraordinary.
"She was kicked out Avengers Academy."
"Again?"
I let out a deep sigh. Wanda Maximoff is nothing short of amazing in every way possible but she has a way of losing control sometimes.
The last time she was expelled I talked with Bruce and convinced him to give her a second chance. She's run out of those.
And Bruce is ignoring my calls. Not that I'm surprised. Steve Rogers always told the Avengers how I'm trouble.
"Yes.. again."
"Great." She says. "So, what are we going to do about your witch problem?"
"Wait for the time to come."
"Are you mad?"
"A little."
"This town is not good for us."
"We'll find the witch and leave." I say. "I'll protect her and all will be well."
Delia Harcourt is a witch from my past. She's aged gracefully as most witches do. She's evil, like the kind of evil a person never wants to meet.
I met her first in the early 1900's. She was only about sixteen and that's when she set on her path of destruction.
She's already killed three prophesied witches and absorbed their magic. But even with their magic she still cannot defeat me.
The Topaz Witch has immense power as does Wanda as the Scarlet Witch. I've already gotten Wanda underneath my wing, I just need the Topaz Witch to protect.
"Do not stress over it, Mila."
I walk towards the kitchen but she follows. I know she's stressed about all of this.
"How can you be so sure that everything is gonna be fine?"
I pour a glass of whiskey. I twirl it, looking up at her.
"What has you so antsy?"
I tilt my head when she doesn't answer. She's uneasy now. I set my glass down.
"Answer the question."
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"This."
She speeds at me and snaps my neck. I groan, slowly opening my eyes to Wanda kneeling over me.
"Mom?"
One of the few times she has actually called me that.
"What time is it?"
"Eight."
"Fuck."
I sit up and realize it's dark out. Mila has never betrayed in our years together. She had to of been compelled or some fucked up spell is being used to control her.
"Stay here and stay on guard, you hear me?"
I look at my phone, looking for Mila's location. It shows her at the Lockwood mansion.
I roll my eyes. I never particularly liked the Lockwood's. Tyler isn't really on my list of favorites. He's a little ignorant but he's also one of Nik's hybrids so in a way I make sure he's safe for Nik's sake. I don't even know why but part of me feels like I need to.
I throw a portal and walk through it. There's dozens of people here dressed in homecoming attire. It looks like some sort of dance.
I walk into the home with no issue. I look around confused. I look around until I see Bonnie walking towards me.
Out of any of the little friend group here, I think I like her best. Maybe it's because she's a witch and I tend to look after them.
"Hey, Alessandra!" She says. "This is Max.. she just got back into town."
I look at the blonde haired girl, not too sure about her.
"Max knows everything."
"In that case.. I'm Alessandra Bardin."
"Max Ansaldo."
Ansaldo. A last name that I haven't heard in a very long time. The witches were thought to be extinct. And partially I'm at fault for that.
"This just became a lot easier.."
"What did?"
I turn my head.
"So, you can live forever?" A familiar voice says in the distance. "With no one by your side?"
"Excuse me.."
I walk away from them and get to the front door where I see Damon on top of Nik with a stake in his hand.
"Damon, no!"
I twist my hand, getting ready to throw an energy blast at him but Stefan beats me to it. I look at the other side of the door.
"Mikael?"
"Alessandra."
"Fuck this."
I see the dagger on the ground. I levitate it and throw it to his heart. His body flings off the steps and his body sets on fire.
Mikael is someone who tried to hunt me in my younger years in an attempt to get to Nik. My close alliance to Nik is what made Mikael come after me on multiple occasions. He took my family from me. The last of them.
The screams of my younger sister plague my mind even after all these years. She didn't deserve to die. Neither did Oliver or my father. They shouldn't have died for what I am.
I turn to Nik. He lets Stefan go. I let out a deep breath and he pulls my body to his.
