The brown stunned eyes looked deep into the light blue confused ones. They just stayed like that neither tried to break the eye contact. It was as if the brown eyes were searching for the soul of blue ones but the blue orbs were only confused as to why this stranger was in the art room which wasn't even open for people yet. Soon the confusion in the blue eyes was replaced by ease as she realized that this stranger might as well be her father's friend's son who he mentioned earlier about visiting Ambiguous. If this was not the reason then how else would it be possible for this person to enter, the guard would already have stopped him from entering.
Eli was finally able to get out of the trance, so he cleared his throat, "I am guessing you are the one who wrote the metaphors all over the place." His eyes travelled to the blue-eyed girl's hand where she was holding a black spray paint.
"Yeah." That's the only thing she said and her sweet voice tugged at Eli's heart, a way he never knew possible. Suddenly, the aim of his life was to hear more of this voice.
"This place is amazing. I love it here." He said trying his best not to say something that might make him sound creepy. Of course, he wanted to know if this was her job. How long has she been doing this for? What her name was and the question that was all over the place in his mind was 'How is she so beautiful?'
But he couldn't ask that now. Could he? It would be so inappropriate.
"I am really glad to hear that." Said the blue-eyed as if she owned the place and it didn't go unnoticed by the smart Eli but he thought better than asking something like that. How could a teenage girl could own a place as grand as Ambiguous?
"So, how was your trip?" she asked assuming this guy the son of her father's friend. As soon as Eli heard it, he knew that this young woman took him for someone else. So, he being the smartass he is went on with it. "It wasn't good at all until I visited ambiguous."
'Or until I saw you.' He thought in his mind.
As if on cue, the blue-eyed girl's cheeks turned pink. And Eli could swear he hadn't seen something as breathtaking before.
"No one has ever said something like that about Ambiguous. I feel proud." She said now putting the spray paint bottle into the trolly. Was Eli (the guy who was to meet the blue-eyed) supposed to know something? Eli couldn't help but really wonder if this girl had a role in the making of Ambiguous. But he remained quiet and nodded with a small smile on his face. He was liking this. Really liking.
"I am guessing you already looked around the place." She glanced at the watch on her right wrist and then looked back at Eli. "Since you're almost an hour and a half late than the time my dad told me about you coming here."
Eli was internally panicking like crazy now but he kept his face straight. It was sure than ever that this young woman was really waiting for a guy. And somehow in the pit of his stomach he felt weird. This feeling. What was it? It wasn't jealousy. Was it? I think it was but would Eli admit it? Hell yes, he would.
It didn't take him more than a second to realize that he indeed hated the idea of this angelic human waiting for someone. Anyone.
"I did. I'm sorry. This place has this thing about it. As soon as I took my first step in, I just wanted to explore more and more about it. Hence, me being here." He admitted honestly, a sheepish smile on his face while he softly scratched at his nape with his left hand.
"Well, then we can go to my mom's office and you can say hi to her and then I'd give you a tour of the art room. I mean, there's so much behind these white covers." She said confidently, while pointing at the long white sheets all over the walls except for the place where she was aerosol painting.
