A/N: Sorry for the late update goiz

I grab my phone and car keys as I get up from the bed, deciding that I should go.

At least for now.

I am not sure if I'd be able to walk or not but I need to get out of this hospital and find myself a place to stay. My brother is coming; I need a place.

And I am never going back to that place.

As I am about to head out, Dr. Lindsy enters after knocking once on the door.

'I am here to get my hair dryer.' She says and I smile even though she can't see it through the veil.

'Thanks.' I say while I give it back to her... she probably notices the car keys in my hand 'So, you're heading out?'

'I'll try my best to walk.'

She nods and steps forward. Pointing towards my phone, she says, 'Do you mind?'

I simply hand her my phone. And she chuckles and says, 'How would I know the password?'

Am I that dumb?

'O! Yeah. Here you go.' I say as I type in the password.

This woman is difficult to understand. Or maybe I am just having trust issues....

'Aergul needs to know about Dr. Lindsy.' I think to myself.

And suddenly realization hits that my best friend of childhood doesn't know what has happened in the past few months.

I never called her after I got married. She must think that her best friend forgot her after she found love, but did I?

Did I find it? Love?

When Dr. Lindsy hands me back my phone, I come back to the present. 'I put my number in it. If you ever need help or just need someone to talk to, call me.' She says, a smile on her face.

'Oh! And don't think that I pity you. Really, I don't. You're brave and full of light. I like you. We should be friends.'

O! wow.

'Thanks. I knew you weren't pitying me, already.' I say, my smile obvious as I speak.

'How did you know?' she says, curious.

'Well, you told me that you were kind of shocked that I am Dr. Eli's friend.' I say laughing a little.

God. I haven't laughed in a while.

Her expressions change and her cheeks glow with the lightest shade of pink, 'I am sorry for that.' She says with embarrassment obvious in her tone.

'I mean I was... still am a little. But I didn't say it because I looked down upon you. Yeah.' She continues.

'It's okay. I didn't mind. Well, maybe not a lot. We're good.' I stop as I hear a phone ringing and its Dr. Lindsy's.

'Hi babe.' She says and leaves as she whispers to me, 'It's my husband.'

And I smile at her.

That was good. Having someone ask you to be friends makes you feel special and it takes me back to the time when I and Aergul became friends.

It was a Sunday morning, I was five at that time and my brother, eleven. Our family had gone out for breakfast. Later we went to the park, where a girl almost my age came up to my brother, who was busy playing with me.

She was crying. Her red hair tied in a half pony tail. She was so pretty. Like those cool kids at school, who always made me feel bad. But she didn't look like them. She looked pure.

'I don't know where mom and dad are.' She said, stuttering as she gasped for air through her tears. My brother took her hand in one of his and mine in the other and walked us to our parents. The girl was still crying.

As my mom took her in her arms to make her stop crying, I said, 'Why would you walk with my brother. What if he was someone bad and took you away.' And the girl cried even more. She scared me and I became the bad guy. My mom gave me 'What are you doing?' look.

Just then my brother picked me up in his arms and said, 'Dude. You scared her.' He chuckled making me laugh.

My dad instantly got up from the bench he was sitting in and said, 'I'll let the guards know. Her parents would probably ask the guards first.'

My mom nodded and my dad left. I looked back at my brother as he spoke, 'Go. Talk to her. Okay? And don't scare her.' He said mocking me as he put me on the ground.

The girl had stopped crying now as my mom told her, my dad went to get her parents.

'Hi' I said still a little scared about her crying again. She cried loud. It was painful to the ears.

'Salam-alikum' she said sniffling and making me feel like an idiot.

I made an 'o' with my mouth and answered her, 'Alikum-salam'

She didn't say anything. I looked up at my brother, who nodded with a smile on his face....

'I like your hair.'

The small conversation we had was beautiful. Later, her parents came with my dad.

The families became close and Aergul and I became bosom friends.

I push the memories aside and text my brother:

Bring your wife too. I miss her.

When will you be here btw?

I push the door open and step out.
