"Ivy, wake up" I say loud enough to wake my best friend from her sleep.

"What time is it?" She asks groggily.

"6:00 A.M. We have a class in one hour, and I'm already ready with breakfast cooking. So, do what you need to do, and come downstairs."

"Okay, but just to let you know...I hate you".

"Don't worry, I hate you too".

I stay in Ivy's room until she gets out of bed to take a shower to make sure she doesn't go back to sleep because 1) I have breakfast cooking and 2) we seriously have class in one hour and I hate being late. Normally, I'd say something like "IVY GET THE FUCK UP FOR SCHOOL AND BREAKFAST", but since it's her birthday Friday, and we celebrate our birthday's in weeks, I have to be nice to her.

After about 30 minutes, I hear Ivy walking down the stairs, and I yell, "GUESS WHO'S BIRTHDAY IT IS FRIDAY!?!?"

"MINE" she says while flailing her arms around, but still dead asleep. "Speaking of my birthday what are you planning to get me?" She asks while sitting at one of the island's stools.

"It's a surprise, Ivy. I can't tell you. You know the rules." Ivy and I have this tradition where we don't tell each other what we plan on getting for our birthday's. We don't even give hints, we're pretty serious about it.

"Can we bend the rules a bit this year? I mean I am turning 21. Y'know, the glory age." She asks with her puppy dog eyes and pouted lips.

"No Ivy," I instruct her while rolling my eyes. "I do have one question for you though, do you want a party? I know we don't have many friends, but we can still have one with a few people, good music, and your favorite foods. Oh yeah, and booze". Ivy and I don't really socialize much, we just never felt like we had too, but I guess you should to prepare yourself so, when you're turning 21 you can have a somewhat decent party. She sighs and hesitates to say something giving me the signal that there's something going on that I don't know about. "What is it?" I ask, determined to get an answer.

"Well, Dakota, Oli is already throwing me a party with some of our other cousins and a couple of bands we know" She mumbles out.

I turn around from the eggs and look at her in disbelief. "And you never thought to tell me?" Ivy hasn't allowed me to meet Oli ever since I knew she was his cousin, and frankly, I think it's getting ridiculous. I start yelling now. "Were you going to keep it a secret from me, and on your birthday you were just gonna say something like 'Oh I'm going to the mall to buy myself things without you, but really I'm going to a party for me hosted by the man of your dreams'?! Ivy that's absurd!"

"Oh so you're getting me money this year. How much exactly?" She asks sarcastically.

"Ivy, I'm being serious. I think it's rude that you won't let me meet him when you now how I feel about him. And you know that I don't just straight up love him, I respect him and admire him,  and him and his band has saved me from jeopardizing my life one too many times!"

"See, this is exactly why i didn't tell you, you overreact! I know that 'Bring Me the Horizon' means a lot to you but, Dakota, you're crazy for him, and I don't think you should meet him until you get that fangirl out of your head every single time I bring him up!" She yells to me.

"Okay, I understand I get a little bit crazy when we speak about him. It's just that I've been your best friend for going on about 3 years now, and I've known Oli was your cousin for about 2 and half of those years, and you have not introduced me to him yet. So, it is partly your fault that I'm still like this." I can tell she's about to cave in to let me go, but then I see she's going to say no. So, I hurry up and put her favorite breakfast foods in front of her, "please," I say with my puppy dog eyes, which work so much better than hers.

"Fine you can go, but if you get weird at any time during the party I'm calling you a cab to get you home. He deals with that on a daily basis, he doesn't need it when he's trying to throw a party for his cousin."

"Alright," I say smirking "you gotta deal," I stretch my arm out to give her my hand so we can make this deal official. "I won't let you down". She rolls her eyes in a playful manner, takes my hand and shakes it. "By the way, no crossies!" I say with a toothy grin on my face.
