I woke up early today and dressed up and went to have my breakfast.
"Good morning mom."
"Good morning, hope you're not still upset about last night?"
"Nope. Everything's cool. I understand perfectly." I tried to say this sentence as casually as I could. My mom has been around on earth for quite sometime so she should be able to tell when someone's lying but it seemed like she didn't know I was lying.
"Ok dear. Have a nice day at school."
"I will." I smiled before leaving for school. Ava was already in school when I got there. She always got to school before me. She wakes up earlier and dresses up faster than me which was kind of ironic because I'm the guy and she's the girl. Girls usually take longer to dress up so as it's the opposite in my case, it's really weird but that's not what I should be thinking about now. We got a long day ahead of us.
"Yo, my favourite sister, how's it going?"
"I'm your only sister."
"Doesn't mean you can't be my favourite." I smiled. "So we're still on for tonight?"
"Yeah sure." Ava replied dryly. "What are we doing again?"
"Haha, very funny." I said sarcastically. "I got us comms to communicate. Damn these things are expensive. I just hope that Dad won't notice the few missing notes in his wallet."
"He's gonna smell you all over the wallet."
"I'm not worried. What's the worst that could happen?"
"Dad could get really annoyed and put you in a coffin for a hundred years or he could send you out of the state and to another school, a boarding school as punishment or ..."
"Hey..." I interrupted Ava. "When people ask 'what's the worst that could happen,' they don't really want to know."
"Conversations are weird."
"I'll let you know when it's time to move in." I handed a comm to her and she put it in her pocket before walking away.

I caught up with Emily after school, flashing my most charming smile. "Hey. How's it going?"
"I'm alright. Just had a stressful day."
"School is always stressful." I started. "Well I was planning to go around town and see what mischief I could cause. Wanna come with?"

"Nahh...Mischief is not really my thing."

"Ok we'll skip the mischief part. Just look around." I suggested.
"Fine we'll go. It'll be cool to get my mind off the stress of school."
As we strolled through the town square, I whispered into my earpiece, "Alright move in."

I took Emily to the arcade and we played a balloon game. The game was pointless we were just trying to fill the balloon up until it popped and then get a stuffed animal as a reward for popping the balloon. I've never been to the arcade before though. I never saw the need to. So even though I was the one showing Emily around, she was the one teaching me how to play the game.

"Who's showing who around now?" She chuckled

"Arcades are weird." I saw that she was distracted by the game so I whispered into my earpiece again. "Found anything?"

"Not yet," Ava replied, her voice barely audible. "But I'm checking her room now. Oh, wait... What's this?"

"What is it?"

"A book with a weird seal on it. Looks ancient," Ava said.

My mind raced with possibilities. "Take a picture, send it to me."

Ava's pause was brief. "Sent. But I hear footsteps, they're about six feet away... I thought you were supposed to warn me when you're coming back!"

"We're not back. It's someone else. Hide."

My heart raced as Ava fell silent. I continued chatting with Emily, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. What if Ava got caught? She'll most likely kill the person that came in and that'll make things even more complicated.

Finally, Ava's voice returned, laced with relief. "All clear. I'm out. Meet you back home."

"It's getting late." I said to Emily. "Maybe we should head back."

"I have to crush this high score first." Emily said. I'm glad I got her to love staying here but now I don't want to stay anymore. "I'm so close."
"Alright." I sighed.

I reached home very late that night.
"You really took your time."

"Shut up." I scoffed. "Let's see what you found."

"It's a book with a seal that I've never seen before." Ava said while turning the pages.

This book had more information about supernatural beings than I, a supernatural being didn't even know about. It had information on all supernatural beings. Changelings, werewolves, demons, elves and even vampires like me.

If she knew about vampires then why did she feign surprise when I told her I was one? She knew about our existence before she even met me.

What's this? A picture of me in this creepy book? What in the actual hell is going on?

She knew about me before she came to the school. She knew I was a vampire before I told her. Maybe us meeting was not a coincidence. Maybe that dream I had about her was not a coincidence. Maybe she actually came to this school because of me but I'm just a 16 year old vampire, what use could any supernatural being have for me? I'm not strong enough, I'm not fast enough, I can't even control myself in my vampiric form.

One thing is for sure though.

Emily is not human.
