The team had already been at the oval for over 3 hours now. Even though she stood in the club rooms below, all Kate could head was the crowed gathering into the stands. Fly was running though the last of the game plan before the team would run out on to the field. It was a big game, not because they were versing St Kilda but because it would be the first game for many of the players. Collingwood was starting the season with a very young team which meant many things for the club. It could either be a very successful season of the team or a very bad season. Flys speech was finished, and the players began to make their way out of the game room, preparing to run out onto the field. Crag had a different coaching style to most of the AFL League coach's, he sat on the side lines watching the game. Kate liked that about him, he was a hands-on coach who wanted to be able to interact with is players one on one.

Kate was walking with her father has they made their way to the sideline to greet the other coach's and get ready for the line up at the start of the game. As Kate walked with her father she heard the players yelling her name. She glanced up at her father giving her a small head node signaling to her he'd wait for her. Kate turned around and was met six tall boys walking up to her.

"You ready Kitty" Lippa smoke with great excitement in his voice had his arm fell around Kate shoulders.

"Please stop calling me that Pat" Kate had begged pushing his arm of her shoulders.

"Okay how about this, we lose then we will stop calling you kitty, we win then we get to call you Kitty for the rest of the season." Nick had made the offer, and he pulled Patty to stand next to him. "Your good coaching pays of and we leave you alone, your coaching doesn't then..." Nick had drifted off but.

"He's calling you a shit coach basically" Brayden Maynard said patting the back of Ginnivan and Josh who were also involved in the conversation. "Come one boy leave the coach alone, we got to run onto the field" Brayden began to pull Josh and Ginnivan with him has Patty began to walk with him. Nick just stood there for a moment staring at Kate with though ocean blue eyes. Kate couldn't pull away.

"No good luck before the big game Bolt" Nick said has the rest of the team was calling him over. He had never used that nickname before,

"Don't think you need luck Daicos" Kate just smiled at hm and his confidence.

"That good luck enough" Nick said slipping away back into the crowed of Collingwood players. Kate didn't know it, but she was smiling with s blush has she made her way over to where her father stood, ready to start the walk up to the oval grounds.

By half time the game was still pretty tight, Collingwood was leading against St Kilda but the second half could bring anything. The team was split into midfielders, forwards and defenders all having chats with their respective coaches about what to do in the second half. Kate was talking with Fly around the next week of training and what they would have planned to work on when another Collingwood staff member asked to talk with Crag, leaving Kate standing awkwardly in the room. Before she knew it Josh was standing on her right side.

"How's the view" Josh had started to say. Kate turned her head to face him.

"Crag is definitely right about sitting on the sideline; you get a better idea of how the game is going." Kate had replied not know that wasn't what Josh was referring to, he shrugged of her response and continued.

"It's nice seeing you out there coaching, doing something you love and all"

"Yer it's nice to be finally be getting paid for the work, it's also nice to be out there with you boys on the ground and all" Kate had said. Her and Josh hadn't known each other for very long but it felt like it, in some respects he was like Pats, just less insufferable and more caring. They had met at the at the end of last season for the next season dinner. Kate had gone with her dad; at the time she knew she would be coaching but the club hadn't announced it yet. They had met when Kate was talking to some of the other woman at the even when Josh had walked up to her and started a conversation. After that faithful conversation they had stayed in touch. Now, almost six months later the two stood in the Collingwood club room under the MCG.

"Well, I better be off, about to be out on the field again" Josh said, patting Kate on the back before running back to the rest of the players. As the players began to walk back onto the field Kate and Nick made contact, Nick winked at her and all Kate could do was stand there and blush and he disappeared into a sea of black and white.

Thirty seconds, that's all they had to do was hold the ball for thirty more seconds. All Kate could do was sit on the edge of her seat watching from the side lines with anticipation as Collingwood began to lock down the field, forcing has many stoppages as possible. Kate had never felt so exhilarating, excited and terrified at the same time. Her heart was pumping and the heat of the stadium light was starting to overwhelm her she tried to keep track of the ball through the field. She was siting alongside her dad staring intently at the field. She heart began to pick up speed and before she could even realize the siren rang.

The stadium erupted is cheers as the Collingwood anthem began to ring throughout the stadium. Kate was overwhelmed and please, standing up from her seat she began to huge the coach's and players on the bench. Josh had engulfed her in a bear hug and Kate embraced him before he ran off to celebrate with the rest of the players. Kate turned to see her dad walking up to her and embracing her.

"Well dome kiddo" Her father had spoken in her ear.

"Thanks dad, first game of the season and we have a win" Kate was in absolute joy as her father walked away to go and congratulate the other coaches and players. Before Kate new it Lippa and picked her up from behind spinning her around.

"Woooo" Her had held in her ear, "Lest go Kitty", Patty ha places her back on to the MCG grounds and she turned around the embrace him.

"I am not happy about the bet but you did well Pat"

"Thanks Kitty" Lippa said and he reveled in the fact that he got to call Kate Kitty for the rest of the year and she couldn't complain. Lippa had he stepped back from the huge and went to high five and bro huge more players. As if it wasn't enough excitement and hugs, Nick had walked up the Kate from behind and spoke to her.

"Guess I didn't need the luck after all Kitty" Nick voice was pleased and exhorted, Kate turns to face him with only a rulers length between them.

        "You never needed luck Daicos".
