Today was one of those perfectly ordinary days that somehow ended up feeling extraordinary. Both Manar and I have busy schedules, but we always make time for each other, no matter what. It's like our secret superpower—finding joy in the little moments.

Being a 7'2" giant in a daycare can be a bit of a challenge, but today the kids had a blast with me! I thought I’d try something new. Instead of the usual storytime, I set up an “adventure day” outside. We played jungle explorers, and I became the gentle giant who led the kids through “the wild.” They climbed on me like I was a big tree, and my laughter filled the playground. It feels so good to make those little faces light up. And amidst their giggles, I thought of Manar—how he has this incredible ability to connect with people, too.

Gyomei texted me during his break, sharing how great his day was going. I could just picture him outside, towering over the kids, making them feel safe. He is a natural with them. I spent the day at my job as a barista, and while I enjoy it, I often find myself daydreaming about the time Gyomei and I get to spend together. The moments we snatch in between our busy lives are the ones I treasure most.

We met for dinner at our favorite little Italian place after work. I love how we can sit there for hours, sharing stories and laughter. I couldn’t help but chuckle recalling the time Gyomei almost knocked over the entire table while trying to sit down. The way he towers over everyone sometimes results in hilarious situations that brighten even the dullest moments.
Dinner was delightful, but what really made it special was watching Manar talk animatedly about his day. He has a way of drawing people in—with his warm smile and expressive gestures. I don’t think he realizes just how captivating he is. As he told me about a new coffee blend he’s been experimenting with, I found myself completely lost in him.

Manar: I love cooking for him, so I surprised Gyomei with a homemade dessert afterward—his favorite chocolate mousse. You should’ve seen his eyes light up! There’s something so rewarding about making him happy with simple gestures. Watching him enjoy it felt like I had given him the whole world. Gyomei is stretching out beside me on the bed, There’s something magical about our life together—two opposites complementing each other in ways I could never have imagined. I’m so grateful for our little moments, the quiet evenings, and the way he holds me, making me feel cherished.
As I drift off, I’m reminded of how lucky I am to have gyomei by my side. We may be an unusual pair, but that’s precisely what makes us a perfect fit. I love him just as I am, towering over him, and he loves me for that, too. There’s a world of possibilities ahead for us, and I can’t wait to explore them together.
