Isabela POV:
I had been taking lunch to Mikey and Jaylin for a couple weeks now and it was just how things were. Mikey was lovely and always welcomed me when I went to the garage, as for Jaylin, things were still very much awkward between us. On the line of friendship or a romantic relationship, too much damage had been done and it was hard to uncover it all. The past was not as forgiving as we would like it to be.
I was finishing the lunch rush at the café and finished the final touches to take the lunch to them before Maverick interrupted me.
"You're still doing that?" she asked me, and I nodded to her and grabbed the bag ready to leave but she held out her hand to stop me.
"Maverick" I said knowing what she was doing and no it was not hurting me doing this it was good to face a problem head on.
"You know I'm just worried about you" she said, and I knew she was, but my life was mine to take care of and as much as it hurt to not be nice to her, I just wanted to get out.
"You should worry about your own life before mine" I said and I saw her shocked look, but I pushed past her and left the café and made my way towards the garage, knowing that she will come find me later to want answers to what I just did.
I got to the garage to see Jaylin working on a car, I have no idea what they were doing but it was fun to watch.
"Seems important?" I asked out loud and they looked up from their work and gave me a smile which I returned.
"Oh yeah totally, come here" she said and motioned me over, I placed the bag on the chair that was in the corner and walked over to where they were, she moved over so I could kneel next to them.
"See I'm just removing this hubcap to replace with a new one because they are rusted and broken so chrome is the way to go" she said and I watched as they did what they just said, "And easy as that it's done" she said and wiped her hands on the rag she had.
"Hm, I still have no idea what you just did but it was fun to watch" I said making us both laugh as we got up and went to the bag of food.
"So, what delicacy have you brought upon us today?" she wondered, and I grabbed the bag since I didn't see Mikey at all.
"Well, I bought you each a BLT with cheese and a side of waffle fries with a diet coke?" I offered and she smiled and nodded and took the bag from me and we went into the office so they could eat, and I sat on the couch.
"Where's Mikey?" I wondered as they took the first bite into the sandwich.
"Out on his first job, should be back soon" she said, and I nodded, they looked at me for a moment and I raised my eyebrows.
"Something on your mind?" I asked and they placed the sandwich down and sipped the drink.
"Just... you look really good lately" she said making me blush and smile.
"I feel really good as well, I feel like I'm getting my life back" I told her, and she smiled at me.
"I'm happy for you Isa, really" she told me, and I thanked her and then stole a fry.
Jaylin POV:
As I was eating and Isabela was telling me a story about a customer and mustard, Mikey came in looking annoyed.
"Worst job ever, she calls again, you are doing it" he said to me and sank into the couch next to Isabela.
"What happened?" I asked and Isabela handed him food.
"Thank you. It was the same college girl who flirted with me when she came here and wants a free job done on her car, I hate that, you're doing it next time" he told me, and I just laughed as Isabela hid her smile at the situation.
