Sa halip na matuwa sa birthday wish ay ginugugol ko ang sumunod na linggo na tila nagluluksa.

Mas lalong naging tahimik ang condo ko. I woke up every morning expecting a plate of waffles or pancakes and a glass of milk but there's nothing on the kitchen counter.

Iyon naman talaga ang gusto ko, diba? Bakit parang ako pa tuloy ang nahihirapan?

And so I'm here, in the gym, working my ass off like I was an addict in withdrawal. At sa totoo lang ay hindi nagkakalayo iyon sa katotohanan. Pakiramdam ko talaga ay nagwiwithdrawal ako. Pero sa halip na sa drugs ay sa atensyon ni Kai.

Kung tutuusin ay mas masahol pa nga siya sa bawal na gamot. I can't sleep well. I can't eat. Natengga din ang susunod ko dapat na painting dahil hindi ako makapag-concentrate. Hindi na rin umuubra ang yoga at pilates sa akin dahil siya pa 'rin ang naiisip ko.

I huffed out a huge breath, sweat trickling down my spine and neck.

"Gym buddy ang hanap ko, hindi party pooper."

He tsk, tsked but ignored me and instructed me to run a slow jog on the threadmill. Sinet niya din ang kanya at tumabi sa akin.

"So..." I drag, making him glance at me curiously. "Silver is in Monaco, huh?"

He shrugged and continued the slow jog. Hindi nakaligtas sa akin ang iilang mga babae na pasulyap-sulyap sa kanya at napapasimangot pag nakita ako.

Huh, they definitely thought I was with him, like with him.

Binaling ko ang atensyon pabalik kay Reid na tahimik at seryosong nagso-slow jog sa threadmill katabi ko.

"I've been there, you know. Hot guys everywhere," nakangising sabi ko. "I'm sure Silver will have lots of fun. She told me she was going to a party tonight," I teased him but he just kept a neutral face.

He's good. I'll give him that.

His ice cold personality is almost freezing but because I know him since childhood, I'm not intimidated by him, at all.

Isa pa, isang tao lang naman ang makakapagpalusaw sa mala-yelo niyang personalidad.

"Yeah," he eventualy answered. "She's with Kai."

Muntikan na akong matisod buti nalang ay agad na nakabawi ako. I glared at him when I saw him smirk.

"Well, I saw Kai's friends. Mga kasing edad ni Silver. She should go out with guys her age, don't you think?"

Tinaasan niya lang ako ng kilay.

I felt the sweat on my temples as I continue the slow jog.

"Alam mo," hindi pa rin sumusuko na sabi ko. "Baka 'don na makakahanap ng boyfriend si Silver. Without Leyton's overly protective eyes and your looming presence, I'm sure she'll find a nice and handsome guy there."

I saw his jaw tick and I couldn't help the smirk on my lips.

My, my. Atty. Reid Allegre is pissed.

"We'll see, though," pagpapatuloy ko habang nagpipigil ng ngiti. "They always publish news articles about these things anyway."

His lips quirked as if he just thought of something funny.

"Oh, like you used to publish articles to ruin Kai's image?"
