Sarah POV
Kiam City , Maryland
******************
I woke up to the warm sunshine streaming through my window, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. As I stretched, Max, Liam's golden retriever, watched me with an adorable gaze. After a quick breakfast, I decided to explore the town, eager to get to know my new surroundings.

As I strolled down the main street, I noticed the charming shops and cafes, each with its unique character. I popped into a quaint bookstore, where the owner, Mrs. Jenkins, greeted me warmly with her old smile which felt new and energetic. We chatted about books and writing, and I felt an instant connection.

Next, I visited the local bakery, where the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries wafted through the air. Tom, the baker, offered me a sample of his famous apple pie. I savored the taste, feeling like I'd discovered a treasure.

I went back into Liam and Alex's cozy home, trying to put the past behind me. But my mind kept wandering back to John's death. I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right.

One evening, as we were cooking dinner together, Alex turned to me and said, "Sarah, we need to talk. "

"You're clearly still troubled by John's death. Maybe it's time to get some help? We can't keep wondering if it was an accident or something more."

I hesitated, but Alex's concern was genuine. "Okay, I'll consider it," I said, putting down the spatula.

After dinner, Alex and Liam sat down with me in the living room.

"I've been thinking... maybe we should hire a private investigator to look into John's death. "

"Someone who can dig deeper and find out what really happened."Alex said breaking the silence between the three of us.

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief. "That's a great idea. I'll start looking for someone tomorrow."

The next day, I spent hours researching private investigators online. Finally, I found one who caught my eye - James, a quiet and efficient PI with a great reputation. I called him and set up a meeting.

As I waited for James to call , I started to think about my career. I missed journalism, and I wanted to go back to my old firm, the Daily News. I pulled out my old business cards and started to flip through them, remembering my colleagues and the thrill of the chase.

When James called ,we discuss a place to meet . He listened intently, his voice seem calm and smooth which allowed me to relax knowing I was going to get the answers  I was desperate about .

The next day, I reached out to my former boss, Michael, and asked to meet with him. I was nervous but determined as I walked into the meeting.

Michael, the editor-in-chief of the Daily News, is a seasoned journalist and a well-respected figure in the industry.

Michael has a distinctive style that's both old-school and modern. He's often seen wearing a tailored suit, a crisp white shirt, and a tie. He's a fan of classic watches and carries a worn leather briefcase that's been with him for years.

Michael is a tall, imposing figure in his late30s, with a commanding presence. He has a thick head of gray hair, a bushy eyebrow, and a sharp jawline that gives him a distinguished look. His eyes are a piercing brown that seems to bore into those he meets.

Michael is a straight-shooter, known for his no-nonsense approach to journalism. He's a stickler for facts and has a keen eye for detail. He's also fiercely protective of his team and will stop at nothing to defend them. Despite his tough exterior, he has a soft spot for those in need and is always willing to give a second chance.
