AELORA WASNT sure how long she sat there, her gaze lost in the dark sky that was now brightening. Somewhere in the night she got lost in her thoughts, not only remembering little memories of Harwin, but ones with Aerion as well.

She got lost in the time Aerion had chased her around the castle for hours, the giggles slipping past her lips as she had the biggest smile on her face. Aerions words 'Princess!' playing in her mind over and over. She hated being called that, unless it was him. She loved the way it sounded coming from his mouth.

——

"Princess!" Aerion called out almost in a laugh as he crashed down ontop of her, letting out a much needed breath after finally catching her.

"You're getting old!" The young girl giggled, as Aerion lifted himself off her, not wanting to hurt her he moved and lied down beside her,

"Am not!" He smiled as she placed a hand over his heart, feeling the way it was rapidly beating. Its pace only quickening under her touch.

"Hmm" She hummed, "Whatever you say!"

——

That had always been a moment that replayed in her head often, she loved the way Aerion let down his guard around her. How he smiled when she was around. She loved his smile.

A faint knock brought her away from her own mind, as she glanced towards her chambers door, seeing Rhaenyra stepping inside.

"My sweet girl" she murmured, making her way towards her daughter. She kneeled in front of the young girl, wrapping her arms around her small figure, placing a kiss on the top of her head.

"It was my fault." Aelora whispered, her voice muffled by her mother's arm.

"Aelora.." Her mother sighed, backing away slightly, yet keeping her hold. "Don't say such things."

"It's the truth. I wanted to train, maybe if he hadn't been there— maybe if—"

"Aelora." Her mother spoke once more, her tone slightly harsher now, "Harwin loved training with you. He had been looking forward to it, he—" She paused for a moment, sucking in a breath before she continued, "Nothing is your fault."

All the young girl could do was nod as her mother wiped her tears.

"Do you remember when Harwin saw you crying after Lucerys was born?" Rhaenyra questioned, trying to make her daughter smile. She earned another nod in response, watching her daughter's eyes light up, "You had wanted a sister, you had complained Jace was gross enough." She continued, now smiling at the memory herself, "He wiped your tears and told you, you were special. The only girl. He was right, you're very special, my sweet girl."

Aelora let out a giggle, "Jace was gross .. but I love Luke!" She smiled,

"As he loves you," her mother smiled, cupping the young girls face. She hadn't wanted to bare any more bad news, especially not now. But she had no choice. A few moments had passed of her soothing Aelora, when she noticed the young girl had calmed down she decided to speak, "Do you remember Laena?" She questioned, running her hand through Lora's hair.
