(Music ⤴️)

"Sev, Sometimes it's better to be FRIENDS so you can keep them FOREVER, than be LOVERS."
Athena spoke to me, bringing me out to my thoughts.

"Eh gusto ko nga siya eh!" I weakly protested to my friend; and Madilyn, by my side groaned loudly hearing my words, while my other friend, Sadie was on her phone. Chance that she's talking to random men on Bumblee again.

"Look Sev, once na umamin ka, you might get rejected! hindi mo ba naisip 'yon?" Madilyn looked at me, speaking in annoyance. "And besides, you have a lot of boys naman crushing over you. Why don't you just, like one of them back diba?" She added.

"Treww!" Athena agreed, nodding profusely at Madilyn's statement. "Ang pangit nila! and once i get into a relationship with one of them, they'll just use me for my looks lang! not my personality." I stated back at the two.

Athena and Madilyn paused; getting my statement, i mean it was true anyways. Boys would maybe just go after me because of my looks.

"Bahala ka na garod, wag mo lang kami idamay dyan," Athena sighed in defeat, aswell as Madilyn. "Ano ba kasi yun?" Sadie finally spoke up, setting her phone aside taking a sip from her bottled water.

"Eh eto naman kasing si Sev! Ayaw makinig, nag-ooverthink." Madilyn replied to Sadie's question, slumping back in her seat. "Sino ba 'yang crush 'mong 'yan? ako uusap dyan tamo." Sadie said, looking at Me with a confused look.

"Si-"

"Si Markian!" Athena cut me off. "SI MARKIAN YUNG REDFLAG?!" Sadie burst out, and i covered her mouth quickly. "ang ingay mo!" i shushed her down. "Oo yun!" madilyn nodded, looking at the three of us. "Bat yun pa?! ang bonaks mo pumili, jusko!" Sadie facepalmed.

"Dami na niyang naloko, masali ka pa dyan jusko Sevanna!" Athena facepalmed aswell, while madilyn was watching, just eating a snack she bought a while ago(totally didn't take her 40 minutes to pick out.)

"Buti pa 'yung ex mo, si.. Ano na nga yun? si.. Geay-" I shut madilyn's mouth before she could even continue. "Shh! don't talk about her! ayokong marinig yung pangalang yun!"

"Bat ba? ex mo na yun, bawal ba banggitin?" Athena spoke, my hand going away from Madilyn's mouth as i wiped my hand off. I sighed and looked back at the three. "Kasi nga, alam nyo na. Masakit nga."

"Di ka naman sasakitin eh, OA naman neto." Sadie rolled her eyes playfully, her eyes going back to her phone. The typical girl she is. "'di nyo kasi feel noon, puro studies kasi kayo!" i pointed at the three of them. "Luh! atleast study first noh!" Madilyn protested.

"Okay, amakana be." Athena whipped a hand out infront of me and Madilyn's face, as we both looked at her. "Tara na nga, may pupuntahan pa tayo hoy. Pupuntahan pa natin JOWA ni MADILYN YVONNE RICALDE" Athena sarcastically said, "Sus, single ka lang!" Madilyn rolled her eyes.

The four of us exited the café, along with Sadie behind us, busy on her phone. We took a Taxi since, of course why would we have to walk in this heat?

-----

We eventually Get to ADMU, as Madilyn was outside the university's gates, along with Us. Some students gave us some dirty looks as they passed by us, some even told us to scram away from here.

"Uy! bawal kayo dito!"

"Sorry po kuya! Eto po kasing kaibigan ko!" I replied, chuckling akwardly and pinched madilyn. "aray!" she yelped. "Bilisan mo na kitde, may magsumbong pa sa council jusko ka." I whispered.

----

After some dirty stares and people yelling at us, Madilyn's 'girlfriend', finally came out the gate. Immediately running up to Madilyn and hugging her tightly, Jusko napakabading talaga netong dalawang 'to.

"My blythe!" Madilyn smiled, as the two Hugged infront of the rest of us. And as i expected, Blythe's friends followed up. I was expecting to see Geayan, but none. it was Just Mika and Jasmine with Blythe. Thank god.

"Ukim nyo, tara na nga para makaalis na tayo!" Sadie complained, which Blythe eventually obeyed. Leading the 7 of us to her car, maybe enough to fit all of us.

----

We were inside the car, driving around Manila Areas.

"Uy, susunuod daw si Geayan." Mika said, and my eyes widened. "Sure? sasama si Geayan?" My voice trembled a bit, looking at Mika. "Oo, bakit?" she raised an eyebrow. "Ah..Wala wala." I shook my head, chuckling akwardly.

"Bat parang kinakabahan ka ha?" Athena whispered next to me. "Ako? kakabahan? hindi ah! strong 'to," I whispered back sarcastically. "Sige sige ah, wag kang magrelapse relapse mamaya, sige ka lang bai." I rolled my eyes, focusing back on the way.

----

We eventually get to a café, settling down a booth. The athmosphere was cozy and warm. Just a right one to clear your thoughts out.

A slender figure entered the shop, the bell dinging as the door swung open. I looked up, to see Her of course. Geayan, as she promised she'll follow up on to us at the café. She approached the booth, her eyes landing on any vacant seat.

"Ah, Gea!" Blythe greeted, as the others greeted her aswell. While i just simply ignored her, well; not really— i just a did a simple wave and gone.

"Dyan ka na oh, bagal mo kasi." Jasmine Pointed the seat next to me, which obviously i internally cursed jasmine with a simple eye contact, as she smirked. "Ah...Hindi pala, okay lang ako tumayo dito, saglit lang naman eh," she chuckled akwardly, shoving her hands into her pockets.

"Hindi! baka mangalay ka dyan, upo, dali." Jasmine protested, and Geayan sighed in defeat. Akwardly sitting next to me; the distance was far. We were maybe about 5 or 6 meters away from eachother. At all costs.

It's been the first time again in a year since we've met again, i was currently studying and focusing on graduating college for the past months; I hadn't even gone out somewhere after those sessions except for school and events.

I took a little glance at Geayan, and to my surprise, she was ignoring my Gaze. She took a little glance at me aswell, but covered it up by looking around the Cafe, probably admiring the athmosphere here since it was cozy.

I sighed.

Oh eto ka nanaman, Umiiwas ng Tingin.

"So.." Sadie broke the silence, clearing her throat. "How's everyone doing? it's been months since hindi pa tayo nagkita kits since..When!" she chuckled, making the others laugh.

"Ang pangit na ng araw ko ngayon since nakita kita eh," Jasmine replied sarcastically, adding a sassy hair flip, and Sadie gasped in reply. This was their usua banter; no one really knew their real feelings to each other. Bardagulan there, bardagulan here, bardagulan everywhere they go.

"Yan nanaman kayo," Athena chuckled, watching Jasmine And Sadie bicker to each other— Not any other deep words, just a funny banter they do; we don't take it seriously anyways, but they had moments when they'd go overboard.

-----

The whole time, i kept stealing glances at Geayan. But she wouldn't return them back. This girl is really hard to get now.

"Tingin ka ng tingin, baka matunaw yan si Geayan," Madilyn whispered into my ear, and i looked at her in disgust. "Kadiri ka talaga." i whispered back, rolling my eyes, placing my chin on my palm as i listened to the other's rants, problems, their usual days and the recent gossip. Just like old days.

I took one more glance at Geayan, still; didn't notice me. She had a frown on her face, well of course because she was sitting next to me.

The thing is tho; i couldn't mostly see where her eyes went, she had a cap on as usual. But i think that she really isn't looking at me. I didn't even know if she felt the same way i was feeling right now— A mix of rollercoasters in my stomach.

One the other half, i was glad and happy to see her again, on the other, Sad and Emotional; and the last is...Kilig? What, No!

I couldn't even process my own emotions, they came up randomly.

One last look, I now caught her glancing at me back. My cheeks flushed a light shade of pink, and my lips parted a bit in shock; but of course she was the one who broke the contact first. Typical for her.

I exhaled deeply, looking back at the others, engaged in a small conversation. I kept my smile up, joining back in.

But still deep down in my stomach, I was having a burst of butterflies in my stomach. I didn't know she had this effect on me; Even or after we had parted ways back then.
