August 16th, 7:21 am

I rushed downstairs with my uniform on. My hair was up in a sloppy ponytail I did hastily as I let it air-dry.

"Mija, I made you some breakfast tacos!" Mom said.

"Thanks, Mom!" I said, smiling.

We ate and I washed up before going back upstairs to grab my backpack. I ran back downstairs and said bye to Mom before going to the garage and getting my bike.

I grabbed my bike lock and key and wrapped the bike lock around the frame and locked it.

I closed the garage and got on my bike.

As I rode to school, I raced cars to the end of the street. Most of the time, I'd win because they didn't realize I was trying to race them.

When I got to school, I locked up my bike and went inside.

I went to my homeroom class with Mr. Calvin.

"I have an announcement for before you go to help set up your clubs, for those who run them," Mr. Calvin said. "For now, I will let you catch up with your fellow students."

In my homeroom, I saw a few other students I recognized. Kacey, Maria, and the girl who was crushing on Laurance a while back. I don't remember her name...

"Hey, Kacey!" I whisper-shouted to him.

"Huh? Oh, hey Calistiya!" He said.

"Are you currently part of any clubs?" I asked.

"I'm part of the soccer team if that counts," he said.

"Yeah, I guess it does," I said. "I run the werewolf club."

He winced a bit.

"Kacey, it's not going to be like when He was here," I said. "Most werewolves aren't that violent."

"It doesn't stop the memories though," Kacey said.

"Yeah, I guess that's true," I said.

Mr. Calvin cleared his throat to get our attention.

"Now, as you are the oldest class, you need to make the freshmen feel welcome," Mr. Calvin said. "You are now welcome to go set up."

We all left and I went to help set up my booth.

"Hey, Daniel!" I exclaimed.

"Hi, Calistiya!" Daniel said.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

"Yes," Daniel said.

Daniel and I positioned the booth. Then, once we were done. Daniel went to get chairs and I put up the sign.

I noticed June helping set up the Meif'wa club booth. I decided to go help her out once I was done. I got the sign-up sheets set out and some pens and pencils and then headed over to June.

"Hey, June!" I exclaimed, smiling.

She turned around and looked at me, "Oh! Hey, Calistiya! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!"

We exchanged a hug and then started talking.

"I was nominated to be a Meif'wa Saber," June said, smiling.

"That's cool!" I said. "I'm the Alpha Female of the werewolves, but you already knew that."

"Yeah," June said.

"So, would you like any help?" I asked.

"No, I'm fine," June said, "We're just about done."

"Nice," I said.

"June, Naomi is asking for you," a cute meif'wa boy said, walking up to us.

"Where is she?" June asked.

"She hid in the bathroom," the meif'wa boy said.

June sighed, "I know what she wants to talk about."

"Do you want me to come? Because I could try to help," I suggested.

"No, she acts like a little sister when she gets this way," June said. "I have to deal with her myself."

June walks out of the gym.

"Are you a friend of June's? the meif'wa boy asked.

"Yeah, we've been friends for a few years now," I said.

"I'm Leo, June's cousin, nice to meet you," he said, as he extended his arm.

"Oh, well, we haven't really met yet, but I'm Calistiya," I said, shaking his hand.

We pulled our arms back and just then, the bell rang.

Kids of different ages were going to come to look at the clubs now.

"I'd better get back to my booth," I said.

"Me too," Leo said.

"Bye, see you at some point in time," I said, starting to walk away.

He smiled confusedly, but I just left him at that.

Many werewolves signed up for werewolf club. I met some new pups who were freshmen this year.

Pretty soon, the bell rang and I had to go to my next class.
