The situation reached a critical point one fateful night when a rival faction launched a brutal and coordinated attack on Vegas. Tony: "We need to get you out of here, boss!"

Vegas: (grimacing) "Pete... where's Pete?"

Pete appears, his face pale with fear but determined.

Pete: "I'm here. We need to get you to a hospital."

Vegas: (gasping) "No... too risky. We go to the safe house."

Tony helps Vegas into an unmarked car, with Pete following close behind. The car speeds through the dark streets, heading for the safe house.

The safe house is a dimly lit, sparsely furnished apartment. Pete clears a makeshift operating table, preparing for emergency surgery. Tony stands guard at the door, alert for any signs of danger.

Pete: (desperately) "Stay with me, Vegas. I'm not losing you."

Vegas: (weakly) "I trust you, Pete. Do what you have to do."

Vegas: (whispering) "Thank you, Pete. You saved my life."

Pete leans down, kissing Vegas's forehead gently.

Pete: "I love you, Vegas. We'll get through this."

Vegas's eyes close, exhaustion overtaking him. Pete sits by his side, holding his hand and watching over him as he sleeps.

The next morning, the sun filters through the window of the safe house. Vegas stirs, his eyes fluttering open. Pete is by his side, looking exhausted but relieved.

Vegas: (hoarsely) "You stayed."

Pete: "Of course I did. I'm not going anywhere."
