Chapter 04

Cara's POV
I sighed at I took a seat in my first class, before I could even get situated a cute, pixie-haired girl walked up to me and gave me a dazzling smile.

"Hi! I'm Alice Cullen, can I sit with you?" She asked in a cheerful voice. I hesitated, not big on loud and obnoxious people.... But she seemed so sweet and sensitive that I reluctantly agreed.

Alice sat next to me and that.... Was the beginning of my end.

~~~Two weeks later~~~
For the next two weeks Bella and I were followed around by the Cullen duo. Edward was glued to Bella's side and Alice was stuck to me.

It was so strange, but I suspected that they had crushes on us, however, Bella was convinced that they were hiding some big, bad secret. And I was forced to agree after today...

Bella and I were on our way to our cars to go home. Across the lot, I noticed that Edward and Alice were arguing with their foster siblings. It was getting heated, and I was about to go over there when a loud metallic screech interrupted me.

I looked up only to see a van spiraling out of control across some black ice in the lot, and heading straight for me and Bella!

I freeze, fear paralyzing me. The world shifted into slow-motion. The van heading towards me, about to crush me and kill me.... All I could think was about my parent's reaction to losing both their daughters in such a horrible and sudden way. I tried to move, my brain screamed at my body to try and save itself but it wouldn't respond, scaring me beyond belief.

Suddenly and abruptly, I was knocked out of the way. Bella and I crashed on the asphalt beside each other as Alice knocked us out of the way while Edward leaped in front of us and stopped the van.... With his bare hands!

My ears were ringing and I was trembling, adrenaline pumping through me as I looked at the duo in shock 'How did they do that?! How was that possible?! That's not normal! They're not human! They're not human!'

The world shifted and I blacked out.

I woke up in the hospital and was immediately embraced by Alice "Oh thank god! I was so worried that you got hurt when you passed out!" I immediately remembered what happened and pushed her off of me "What the hell are you?!"

Alice developed a panicked and hurt expression, she goes to speak, but gets interrupted by my dad who bursts into the room and embraces me "Cara!" As he hugs me Alice slips away leaving me to wonder...
