Wyatt POV
A few days passed by in the blink of an eye. Everyone in the Cathedral had to pull their weight if they wanted to continue surviving.
Wyatt and Sunny were incredibly efficient with their time and split their duties as well as they could.
Wyatt was responsible for Weaving the remaining Soul Shards while Sunny was responsible for exploring and mapping the Dark City and especially the Catacombs with his shadows. They went so far as to wear their [Silver Headband] for the boost to their thought speed.
Although Sunny's shadows had a limited separation distance from Sunny, he could set up the shadows in a line so they could act as relay points to each other, effectively tripling their already significant range.
Wyatt wore the [Inconspicuous Bandage] Memory that increased healing and whenever he started to run low on blood, both of them would rest and let the shadows augment the bandage, getting him back up to maximum capacity as quickly as possible. This didn't mean they weren't often lightheaded from lack of blood though.
They did rest sometimes, but most of their breaks boiled down to turning one hour into way more by augmenting their [Silver Headband] as well. Wyatt would often use this time to horse around in his Soul Sea, play the piano six times faster than is reasonable, write out a bit more of the legend of Unknown, and discuss with Sunny about their plans for once they escaped the Forgotten Shore.
'[I'm gonna be so rich, Sunny. I'll make a dozen Memories every day and sell them off for the big bucks.]'
'(I'll make two dozen Memories a day, then I'll buy a huge mansion and live a life of luxury.)'
'[I'll make three dozen memories a day, then I'll make a square house made out of diamond blocks.]'
'(What?)'
'[I see someone has never played minecraft.]'
He switched back to talking out loud as though making a point.
"Which is such a shame. Youngin's like yourself don't know a thing about back in my day."
Wyatt could hear Sunny groaning within his head.
'(Not this again. After that stunt you pulled when we first met Harper, I don't want anything to do with 'Back in your day'. Honestly, 'Alpha', what does that even mean?)'
If Wyatt were the type to feel shame, having to remember that might've pierced him in his soul.
If.
"Ha, you haven't even seen one percent of what we had back in our day. Trust me, I can do so much worse."
'(I'll believe it when I see it.)'
"Oooh my, does that mean you're giving me the green light? You're curious aren't you?"
Sunny gave a rather unclear answer.
At that moment, a nice aroma filled the air. It was the smell of Saint delivering grilled meat to the duo.
Everyone had to pull their own weight, that included Saint and Scurvy. Scurvy caught the food, and since Saint had to be nearby when Wyatt finished his Soul Shard Memories, she was designated as the cook. Fortunately she wasn't half bad and the stuff she made was mostly edible, sometimes it was even really tasty.
'[Sunny, how many more until she can Ascend?]'
'(She is at 178/200 Shadow Fragments.)'
'That is absolutely amazing, just another day of this crap and I can finally start putting some pressure on Gunlaug.'
