After stuffing ourselves sick with candy and junk food, Kiara and I laid back in a dazed state, almost completely out of it.
I gave my bloated stomach a nice pat as if there was a baby inside. "She's coming any day now."
Kiara also patted her stomach from where she was laying beside me on my bed. "Yep. Yep."
"What shall we name them?" I asked, rubbing my belly again, which was carrying a nicely sized food baby.
"John," she deadpanned.
I looked over at her and we burst out laughing. "We're naming both our children John? Including my daughter?"
"Yes," she giggled. "Our two little John's will fall in love and carry on our bloodlines."
"Girl John will be very messed up but boy John will love her dearly."
"When girl John starts taking long showers before coming to our house," Kiara said, "That's when you know..."
I clutched my stomach, tilting my head back as I laughed breathlessly.
"Elordi," Kiara said, referring to her celebrity crush. "That'll be our last name of course."
"Jacob will be your daddy too."
Her jaw dropped, but she only laughed harder. "And what will girl John's maiden name be?"
Before I could think too hard about my answer, I said, "Kekoa."
We both gasped and lost our smiles at once; we were both baffled by my answer.
"I mean..." I let out an awkward laugh, sitting up.
Kiara sat up with her eyes bulging out of their sockets. "Did you say Kekoa? Like..."
"No," I scoffed, sticking my head forward before getting out of bed. "Ah, look at that! My guitar. Do you wanna—"
Kiara grabbed my wrist, pulling me back down. "Layla Celine Elizabeth DuPont." Full name. Yikes. "You just proclaimed Malachi as your baby daddy."
"Food-baby daddy," I corrected.
"Exactly!"
I let out a sigh, falling back into my bed again. "Kiara," I groaned.
"You like him!" She stood up quickly, grabbing her phone from her bag. "Ah! You so like him!" She plopped back next to me, laying on her stomach. "You guys are gonna get married and have curly haired kids and be famous music stars—" She gasped. "You're totally gonna be a barbie popstar! Do you know how long I've waited to live vicariously through you?"
I covered my face with my hands, unable to restrain the smile on my face. "I don't know if I even like him."
"You like him enough to proclaim him as your food baby daddy."
Another groan escaped me. "Yeah, but I don't know if I actually like him."
She opened google. "Signs of a crush," she muttered as she typed. "Okay. Do you make eye contact?"
"No," I said. "I hate eye contact."
"Do you turn red?"
"Hell if I know!"
"Do you sweat or even shake?"
I looked at her. "I do sweat, but I'm not gonna tell you where."
She slowly turned to meet my eyes, and then she burst out in laughter. "Freaky," she muttered, shaking her head. "What about shaking?"
