𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 — episode one
𖡡 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟳:𝟮𝟯 𝗮𝗺
Poppi trailed behind Cara, eyes every so often flicking up from her copy of Jane Eyre so as to not trip. "Why're you hiding? You need to be eyes on Penton!" Poppi skidded to a stop, almost bumping into Connor.
"Mrs. Penton is never gonna serve you if she knows your birthday." Pippa sassed back.
"Well, she's not currently on till, and... I have this." The redhead pulled something from her pocket.
A fake ID.
The color drained from Poppi's face. "Maybe this isn't such a good idea..." She finally looked up from the book. "I mean, buying alcohol underage is one thing, but with a fake ID? That's an indictable offense."
"Okay, Merriam Webster." Lauren snorted. "This makes you 27!" Pip's eyes went wide. "I can pull it off," The girl shrugged.
"Pip, Mobi, you need to distract Mrs. Penton, okay?" Poppi shook her head profusely, strings of disagreements falling from her and her sisters lips.
"Do not let her look at the till." Lauren commanded, before turning over her shoulder and walking away.
"Why us?" The pair groaned.
"You got this!" Cara put her hand on Pip's shoulder, an encouraging smile on her lips. "I don't want to be an accessory to crime!" Pip spoke, and Poppi nodded in agreement.
"Well, don't fuck it up."
Poppi sighed, her body riddled with nerves as she glanced at Mrs. Penton.
Pip cleared her throat, grabbing Poppi's hand and pulling her toward Mrs. Penton. They both stood there, unsure of what to do. It seemed as though they were going to stand there in silence, until Mrs. Penton turned her head toward the till.
"Hi!" Poppi called out, louder than she intended and in a high pitched voice.
"Hi." Mrs Penton turned her neck.
Poppi wasn't quite sure what to do now, so she hit Pippa with her shoulder. Pip stumbled slightly, before picking up a package of pastries and staring at it.
