Prologue
The following story is NOT a fairytale.
It does not begin once upon a time, in a land far, far, away, and there will be no slaying of dragons or rescuing of princesses, as much as one might hope. The events that shall transpire take place in the Kingdom of Ishigaki, in a time that does identify as past, present, or future. The story and its meaning are ever present, ever relevant, and shall unfortunately remain so until the end of time.
*But do not fret.
At the center of it all, there is a prince, and there is a fairy.
Both dream of freedom, though neither are truly trapped.
Nor are they free.
The lands that merged to form their homeland are as different to each other as our two protagonists are.
The resulting polarity serves as both their downfall and their saving grace.
By the end of this tale, neither character will succeed in their mission.
Nor will they fail.
One has a weapon, the other a curse.
*Finally, should one feel weary or anxious following the journey of our heroes, do keep in mind: The day is not truly over, until the stars come to light.
