"YOU LIKE BRUBECK FOR THIS?" she asked, her tone laced with skepticism."Oh, without a doubt," Lucy scoffed, pushing open the door to the back. As they stepped outside, her expression turned to one of disgust. "Oh Jesus," she sighed, taking in the scene of people in bathing suits and the blaring loud music.
"Hey!" a young man in his early twenties called out, approaching them. "NYPD, you guys are the best!"
Amanda and Lucy exchanged annoyed glances. The young man continued, oblivious to their disinterest. "I did a drive-around with some homicide detectives last year. It was so awesome."
"Thanks?" Amanda replied, pursing her lips. "Mr. Brubeck around?"
"Oh, he's in a cabana, but he's busy," the boy explained.
'Yeah, which one?' Lucy cut him off, her tone sharp and insistant, eager to get straight to the point.
'Uh...' the boy pointed to his left.
Lucy nodded and took a step forward. "Excuse me," she said, slightly pushing her way past him.
"Woah!" Sonny exclaimed, causing Amanda and Lucy to turn their heads back at him, eyebrows raised. "You just pushed Brady Clark."
"Who?'" Lucy sighed, not caring for the boy, or his movies, continuing to walk.
"The breakout star of Summer Daze?" Sonny explained, the name not ringing any bells. "And the Knightmaster trilogy?"
Amanda stopped the trio in their tracks. "I count at least two dozen underage girls in bikinis. You know, no one leaves. Start checking IDs."
"All right, you guys get that side, I'll take over here,"Carisi instructed two NYPD officers as Amanda and Lucy walked towards the cabana.
"Adam Brubeck?" Amanda questioned as they walked around the corner, spotting a man in a grey shirt pouring himself a glass of something. "Detective Rollins and Fields, SVU."
"Is there a problem?" Adam asked, his curiosity piqued, just as a man in a purple polo stepped out beside him.
"Dennis George," he announced himself, his tone authoritative. "House council. This is a private event. If it's about the noise?"
"Anyone here have ID?" Lucy queried, her hands sliding casually into her pockets, annoyed at the presence.
"Everything's kosher," Adam laughed nervously, his demeanor not quite masking his unease. "No one without a wristband gets served, so... You don't need to waste your time or kill the buzz."
"That's not why we're here," Lucy replied, her smile forced but firm. "We want to ask you about Tensley Evans."
"What did she do now?" Adam scoffed, rolling his eyes. "If she's claiming that she has a job with us, or is attempting to use us as a reference, the answer is no. She's persona non grata."
