Training Arc: Smoker

In this book I will be replacing the Behind the Scenes chapters with these Training Arc to give you an insight on what happened for you during those two years and to bring more opportunities for different characters to interact with you. Most of these will be romantic encounters so if you do not want to or do not feel comfortable with reading about romantic encounters with the chosen person for the training: don't worry. After each Training Arc chapter I will provide a brief summary of the most important details revealed at the start of the next chapter so you are free to skip it! Enjoy, my lovelies!

I sighed at the amount of cargo Smoker's marines were bringing into the castle. I watched from my room's windows, peaking out from the curtains and making sure not to be seen. They were ordered to take it to the library in the center lower part of the castle by my father who's supposed to be the person that requested for it through Smoker. I watched as they finished with the last of it before they went to report to their superior.

Smoker had them bring two ships: one for the marines and one for the cargo. I watched his tiny figure nod his head before giving them orders. His men piled on the ship on the right before sailing off leaving him, Tashigi, and a select few marines. He ran the plan by me before he left: the select marines would stay on the ship to keep watch and guard whatever else was on there, staying alert in case there's trouble on the island while Tashigi was free to stay with him or roam about the island. The man looked up in the direction of my window once his men were out of view and I took that as my queue to leave my window and continue to walk down to the library.

"You can admit that you didn't want the two of you to end either, Your Highness," Maki's voice entered my ear from behind me as we walked through the halls. She kept her formality with a slight tease in her voice as she followed me. Part of her job was to stand by my door when I was in my room to make sure if I needed something I'd get it or—with this new illness—if I was okay. She would leave once I fell asleep and her room was one of the only maid rooms we had right next to me.

My figure barley noticeably flinched at the sudden claim as I kept my head forward while shaking it, "What are you talking about, Maki?" The clacking of my shoes hitting the floor echoes around the tall halls as we reached the entrance of the library. When she spoke up again, I stopped in front of the door with my hand on the handle.

"What I mean to say, Your Highness, is that you have had a liking for Smoker since he was assigned as your bodyguard for the first time. Even if he hurt you, it is alright to still want to be with him," She smiled at me softly, a motherly look in her eyes as she glanced at me one last time before bowing to me and walking away.

I watched her figure fade into the distance, her words echoing in my mind as two guards stepped to either side of the library doors replacing her supervision. I look to the guard on my right and smile to a pink haired woman by the name of Bumi before turning to my left and nodding my head to a dark green haired man by the name of Malikai.

Malikai was the head-guard: the strongest soldier we had. He's skilled and proficient in martial arts, but his real specialty is archery. With the bow and arrow being a long range weapon, he focused on being fast enough to shoot arrow after arrow. Ever since he was in training he aimed to be head-guard and with his ability to make up for his weakness he was able to accomplish it. Instead of staying in the back lines he gives orders and makes decisions while staying directly behind the front line as he fights.

The front line was Bumi's responsibilities. Bumi was his second in command: the second strongest of our kingdom. She specialized in dual wielding. It didn't matter whether they were daggers, swords, or any other weapon. As long as she has two of them she is able to adapt to its weight and length and make it her own. She took direct orders from Malikai and relayed them to the guards that were under her.
