Four months later:

Aurora's POV:

"Hello?" I clutch the phone against my ear as I place my textbooks into my bag.

"Baby, are you done?" Tristan's voice vibrates against my skin, making me smile. I've managed to keep my promise to call him between every single class.

"Yeah, I'm just leaving." I tell him, going down the steps and into the back garden.

"Don't go anywhere. I'm coming to pick you up." He replies.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Just stay put. I'll call you when I'm there." He orders before hanging up.

I nod to myself and walk through the large yard, admiring the greenery. This was my last day before semester break and I honestly couldn't be more relieved. I passed my exams with flying colors. It's been a rough patch for me but I've managed to put in the work and make myself proud.

I found that studying wasn't the hard part. It was juggling all my assignments while breastfeeding Iris and taking care of both her and Eric.

Some nights, I'd stay up if one of them is sick, completely disregarding my studies. Other nights, Tristan would take them. But a mother can't really focus on anything when her babies aren't feeling well. Nonetheless, I directed all of my remaining energy towards studying whilst also fulfilling my marital and motherly duties.

I've even made friends in my college. At least the ones Kane's lingering presence didn't scare off. I never got used to having a bodyguard but I already knew what Tristan's answer would be if I asked him to call him off.

I love my friends, spending time with them, studying together. Granted, there were many things I couldn't relate to them in and vice versa. For instance, none of them were married with kids: Vanessa is dating, Natalie's single, and Lisa wants to have as many men as she could.

"So we were wondering if you'd like to join us." Lisa asks as she pushes her bright red hair behind her.

"Where do you want to go?" I question, turning to her.

"There's this bar in the city that everyone's been raving about." She explains as the others look intrigued.

Here's the thing. I love hanging out with the girls, and I have several times. But I wish we could do so in settings I'm comfortable in. Besides, I'm breastfeeding and can't have any alcohol which will most likely single me out of the group.

"Can I take a raincheck?" I sheepishly smile, giving an apologetic look.

"How can I forget?" Vanessa sighs. "Let me guess, family night?" She raises her brow and I nod. Truthfully, I've missed Tristan, Eric and Iris beyond comprehension. I've been looking forward to today solely for the fact that I get to spend more time with them.

"You're forgiven." She firmly nods. "Only because Eric and Iris are absolutely adorable." She gushes and I smile at the kind compliment. I've shown them pictures before and one time, Tristan dropped them off for me between classes. Needless to say, everyone caught severe baby fever that afternoon.

"But we should go out to celebrate."

"I promise we will." I reassure her. I fully intend on making it up to them.

"Well, well. Mr. Bodyguard's looking particularly sexy today." Nat smiles towards Kane as he marches closer now that I'm off campus.

"The driver is hotter." Lisa comments, twirling a strand of hair in her index finger. I smile as they swoon over Bruno and Kane.
