I parked Aurora and opened the doors to Riverview High School. I still felt groggy from yesterday. I'm surprised I'm even on my feet. I walked briskly down the old hallway and sat in classroom number 421. We meet in this room because it's quiet before we all head to our own classes. I took out my things and, after a short wait, I saw Nick at the door, kissing that dark-haired girl who recently approached him. With a silly grin, I watched him until he sat down in front of me. I nudged his shoulder.

"So, how was the date?" I laughed, and he rolled his eyes.

"It was something you'll never experience," he smiled.

"Oh, come on, Nick. Entertain me. I can't believe a guy like you has a girl like her." Nick's expression grew serious. I leaned towards him, slightly concerned. "I'm just messing with you," I playfully hit his shoulder. He stopped packing and leaned on the chair, looking into my eyes and smiling, and I smiled back.

"So?" I inquired.

"We rode the bike, and she touched my chest. I was going so slow that she told me to speed up," he laughed, and I nodded. "She raised her hands and held onto me so tightly that I felt butterflies in my stomach. I can't believe it, but she looked even better with my helmet on and enchanting without it. When she looked into my eyes, I saw the love in her gaze. I was just waiting for my insides to melt," he said dreamily.

"Wow. You're better at this than I expected. And what about the fireflies?" I teased with a grin.

"Nick?" He looked at me with a silly smile, and I had a feeling I knew what was coming. "You rascal. You kissed her," I said, half amused, half surprised. He nodded proudly.

"Was it a French kiss?" I prodded, making him roll his eyes.

"You're an idiot, you know that?" I laughed.

"No, it was a regular kiss," he explained. I nodded with a smirk.

"Hey!" We turned at the sound of Jake's deep voice as he approached with his black helmet under his arm. He sat next to me and started unpacking his things.

"Hey, Jake. Nick is just experiencing the love of his life," I filled him in with a smile. He organized his stuff and looked at me with a smirk.

"Jealous?" he teased, and Nick smiled. With raised eyebrows and a grin, I leaned back in my chair.

"No!" They both gave me looks that clearly showed they didn't believe me. "No! I have no reason to be jealous, Nick. I have a different beauty every Wednesday." Nick rolled his eyes and looked at Jake, then at me.

"You have a different girl every Wednesday. Don't you want something more than just a one-night stand?" Nick asked.

"He's got Clara River on Wednesdays," Jake added. I looked at the table. I hadn't told them yet that she couldn't keep up with me anymore.

"Actually, it's over." They both turned to me with surprised expressions.

"What? She was getting on my nerves," Nick shook his head and Jake laughed.

"Maybe she realized you were just using her?" I rolled my eyes.

"Sure." Nick stared at me.

"What?" I asked, shaking my head.

"Nothing, just what will you do at the Valentine's dance?" Jake and I exchanged surprised looks.

"You?" He smiled.

"Of course, you don't know about it." He took a breath. "Olivia and Elery want to revive the high school Valentine's dance."

"What?!" I exclaimed after a moment. "No way!" Jake said. "There was a reason it got canceled." Nick and I focused on him.

"Doesn't anyone know the history?" Jake asked.

"We're not nerds, Jake," I grinned. "What's the story?" Nick asked, half frightened. Jake glanced between us and put his hands together.

"February 14th." Jake began.

"We know when Valentine's Day is," I said playfully, but Jake shot me a deadly look.

"Let me finish!" he snapped. I leaned back.

"So, as I was saying, on February 14, 2012, our school held a Valentine's dance where girls and boys invited their partners. Everything was going smoothly until a girl, Lucy Whitaker, lost her partner." I rolled my eyes and before I could interrupt, Nick stopped me with his hand. "Before she could report it, he appeared with a skeleton makeup on his face and killed everyone who said they didn't believe in God." I laughed, and they both looked at me in disbelief.

"Skeleton makeup? Next, you'll tell me he wore a black cloak." Jake nodded.

"How do you know?" I leaned closer to the desk, my leather jacket sleeves brushing against it.

"Because that's what Tate Langdon wore. Exactly as you described - skeleton makeup, killing those who believed in God, and setting his father on fire. Whoever it was, they were inspired."

"How do you know him?" I rolled my eyes.

"He's from the TV show American Horror Story." They looked at each other and nodded. We turned at the sound of the bell, and we all grabbed our things and stood up.

"Alright, we'll finish this later." I looked at Jake, who gave me a friendly punch on the shoulder. He's our oldest and smartest member. A perfect target for jokes. I waved at them as they headed the opposite way, and on my way, I ran into a redhead leaning against the blue lockers.

"Hey," I greeted with a smile. "Still don't want my number?" She averted her eyes, which tugged at my heart.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked in a softer voice.

"Go away, Cole," said her sexy friend. I smiled at her.

"Nobody asked you," I retorted.

"I'm serious, go away!" I looked at the redhead, who was staring at the ground. It reminded me of our first meeting when I touched her and she pulled away. I raised my hand in defense and walked to my class.
