No one's pov

Max had always had a crush on Leo, everyone knew that. Max is the definition of  a simp, a lover boy, he loved way too hard, wherever you'd see Leo you'll see Max, Max made it clear last year to the boy that he had feelings for him.

Max did everything to get the short boy's attention, he did the boy's assignments for him, he made him lunch for school because the school's food was horrible and Leo made it pretty clear how he felt about it, so Max made it his priority to always prepare lunch for Leo, he would always drive him home even though Leo had football practice and would stay late, he didn't mind waiting for the boy, it even gave him more time to see the shorter boy.

Max had an unhealthy crush on Leo, his friends and parents knew that after months of advice Max had already gone deep for this boy. There was no helping him, his heart was beating yes? But for Leo alone and it wasn't in a healthy way.

Leo does not like Max, at all, Leo isn't even gay, bi or pan, he had made sure to remind Max every time, the boy was as straight as a ruler.

"Hey Leo" Max greeted opening the car door for Leo. He had come to get Leo for school as usual, he did this every morning before school, and Max made a ritual to always get out the car to open the door for Leo, Max was a gentleman, his parents had raised him well. He grew up in a happy loving family, he was taught nothing but love so when he fell in love, he gives it his all and it didn't help that Leo was his first love. Everyone knows how foolish you can be for your first love.

"Hi" Leo replied dryly before getting in the car. He even went the extra mile of letting out an exhausting sigh.

"So I was thinking.... and I know you've turned down this a million times, but would you like to go on a d-" Max spoke nervously, his eyes filled with hope and his fingers fidgeting, he knew Leo's reply but he still wanted to test the waters.

"No" Leo cut him off flatly, taking his phone out of his bag. The shorter of the two really didn't want to be in the car with the other but he had no other choice, he couldn't drive and even if he could, his family wasn't privileged enough to get him his own car.

"Oh okay then" Max said with a sad expression on his face, he was used to the rejection but it still hurt, he has been trying to get the shorter male to go out with him. Leo who was chatting with some girl didn't even notice, or care. "Maybe some other time" he said more so to himself but Leo had heard, which he only responded with an eye roll.

"How was your weekend" Max said after noticing the akward silence, he wanted to make the car more lively, it wasn't his fault, he was with his crush, the love of his life, of course he would try to make the most of it each time he got to be around him. Leo heard the taller boy and side eyed him

"Why are you asking, you were there Max" Leo replied praying that the school was close to his house, he really didn't want to be in this car.

"I was just trying to make small talks" Max muttered.

"And did I say I wanted to talk?...we've been through this every fucking car ride. I. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. TALK. TO. YOU" Leo spoke, ending it with a loud groan making the taller male continue with his driving, he didn't want to be the reason for Leo's sour mood this morning and faith wasn't on his side because he had already began to ruin the smaller boy's mood.
