A Step Towards Answers

Ryan's heart pounded in his chest as he glanced at Aaran, who sat across the room, his eyes wide with fear. They had been in this strange place for days now, a haven of vampires led by the enigmatic Luther. Despite the initial terror, Ryan felt a strange sense of security when it came to Kayden. He had seen how much Luther cared for him, a sentiment that puzzled everyone, including Luther’s own people. Ryan considered himself lucky to still be alive, but the questions about why they were spared lingered in his mind.

During their time here, Ryan had learned much about their captors. The vampires referred to Luther as their master, a title befitting a leader of their kind. Vampires, he discovered, could live up to 4,000 years, though Luther himself was relatively young at 900. His knowledge and wisdom were unparalleled in the vampire world, a fact his followers revered. Initially, the vampires had been hostile, but under Luther's orders, they had softened slightly, even engaging in brief conversations with their human and werewolf guests.

Aaran, however, remained on edge, his fear palpable. He was especially worried about Kayden, who lay unconscious, his condition uncertain. The one solace they had was that Kayden was healing, albeit slowly. And he is worried about that because he learnt in werewolves land that they can heal very fast if there is no wolfsbane and Ryan were sure there was not any because he only fought with Rouges. Yes they were four but kayden is still an alpha so he should be healed fast maybe they are in vampire land and not in wolfs maybe that's why he is healing slow that what Ryan thought. Ryan and Aaran spent most of their time in Kayden's room, and Luther would visit occasionally to check on him. On the first day, they were kept in a separate room and not allowed to see Kayden. But Ryan had heard that Luther spent the entire night by Kayden's side. The next day, Luther had left for a while, and upon his return, he permitted Ryan and Aaran to stay with Kayden and since that Ryan can say that he was gentle with both of them and not much rude as compare to before .

Ryan was lost in thought when a sudden burst of crackers filled the room with loud noises but as they waited for light they met with glitter, not light. The shimmering particles seemed to replace the air, and he looked around in awe. But at the same time it feels like they are inhaling glitter instead of oxygen.

Luther entered the room, followed by a man dressed in the most unique outfit Ryan had ever seen. The man looked incredibly young, maybe twenty, and his confident stride was something Ryan admired.

"Always a dramatic entry, Magnus, I see," Luther remarked.

"Dramatic is my middle name, you know, my dear," the man Ryan assumed Magnus is his name as Luther called him that replied,

Then turning to Ryan and Aaran he say "Hello, lovelies. I am Bane, Magnus Bane. It’s good to finally meet a human. As you see I was getting bored of these bloodsuckers here." His smile was so captivating that it drew laughter from Ryan, Aaran, and even Luther.

"Hello, I am Ryan " As Ryan replied, Magnus moved closer to Kayden's bed, gasping dramatically. "Oh my, look what a cutie he is! But I agree, still a kid." Then he turned to Luther and said with a smirk , "But he's going to turn out to be a fine young man with charm. You’re lucky, old hag." Ryan has no idea why Luther is lucky being.

"Out of everyone here, you’re the one not allowed to call me old, you centuries-old bastard," Luther shot back, and the two began to bicker like old friends. Ryan realized that with Magnus, Luther seemed more human, less the stern, cold leader he had seen before. Their playful banter spoke of a deep bond.

Ryan couldn't follow their conversation entirely, but he noticed a fleeting look of pride on Luther’s face whenever kayden's name was mentioned in their conversation. Finally, Magnus turned to Aaran. "And who are you?"

Aaran hesitated, fear flashing in his eyes, but then he replied, "I am Aaran, their friend." He gestured to Ryan and Kayden.

Magnus studied him for a moment before saying, "ohh I see a human then but I wonder why your aura  feel familiar, so familiar like my own."

Before Aaran could respond, Luther intervened. "Come on, Magnus. Stop playing games. Your own can be a witch or demon, and he is neither. Shouldn’t you focus on why you are here?"

He turned to Ryan and Luther and away from aaran "Oh, right. I just wanted you to be honored to meet a fine young man—myself. And I also have a very cool story to tell, but for that, I need you all to be awake." He glanced at Kayden. "Until then, be ready for a fun show because someone is going to wake up, and I don’t want to miss that for anything in this world. As you know, Luther, your land is quite boring."

Magnus had barely finished speaking when Kayden stirred. All eyes turned to him as he slowly opened his eyes, blinking against the light. The room fell silent, the glitter still hanging in the air, creating a surreal atmosphere.

Kayden's eyes focused, and he looked around, confusion giving way to recognition. "Ryan? Aaran?" His voice was weak but clear.

Ryan rushed to his side, relief flooding through him. "Kayden! You're awake!"

Kayden managed a small smile. "What... what happened?"

Before Ryan could answer, Luther stepped forward, his expression softening. "You had a close call, but you’re safe now little one, don't worry" he put his hand on kayden's hand but Kayden jerked his hand away.

"Who the hell you are, and what the heck you mean little one, you are talking to an alpha here " and kayden's eyes turned golden that means his wolf is out. Ryan has no idea why kayden's wolf is out he learned in pack when a person is too angry his wolf is out but Kayden is a naughty but always happy kid Ryan never saw him angry before.

"For someone who was not awake for weeks, you sure has a lot of fight inside you, I guess rouges were not enough" Luther replied in a little anger, as no one disrespect like him that before.

" Try me, and when you will be on the floor then we will see how much fight I have inside me " kayden said while standing up.

And Ryan saw now Luther is really angry because his fangs were out but at the same time kaiden claws are also out, they both were in attacking mode. Ryan was afraid for kayden what gonna happen to him and why he is so angry but before they both attack, magnus interrupt them. And Ryan and aaran run towards Kayden to calm him.

Magnus clapped his hands, a delighted grin on his face. "Well, isn’t this a lovely reunion? Sorry to bring you both out of this love bubble of yours, as I said, I have a story to tell, and it involves all of you."

Ryan, still holding Kayden's hand, looked at Magnus with curiosity. "What story?"

Magnus's eyes sparkled with mischief. "A tale of ancient prophecies, hidden powers, and the reason why you all are here . But first, let’s make sure your young friend here is comfortable and Luther come with me, I guess first we need a lovely discussion of our."

As they settled Kayden back into bed, the room's atmosphere shifted from tense to hopeful. For the first time since their capture, Ryan felt a glimmer of optimism. Whatever the future held, but for now at least he knows someone who has answers why all these things are happening.

At the same time he thought about Luther , his eyes betraying a depth of emotion behind that anger while fighting with Kayden that Ryan hadn't seen before. There was more to Luther than he had imagined, and in that moment, Ryan understood why the vampire leader had saved them. They were not just prisoners; they were part of a story that was still being written, a story that would change all their lives forever.
