I woke up before dawn and quickly realized I was still in the living room, just like everyone else. A quick glance around revealed that everyone else was still asleep. My father's absence wasn't surprising; he always rose with the sun, no matter how late he'd gone to bed. I turned to my right and couldn't help but smile. Macau looked absolutely angelic as he slept, holding me close as though his very existence depended on it. I carefully brushed a lock of hair from his face, and as I gazed at him, my heart ached with the desire to kiss him. Yet, I restrained myself. I knew that before any kiss could happen, I needed to lay bare my feelings and discover if he felt the same way about me.
Moments later, Macau stirred and began making soft sounds that signaled he was waking up. I couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment—his embrace would soon end. "Good morning, sunshine," I greeted him with a playful grin. As his eyes fluttered open and met mine, a deep blush spread across his cheeks, making him look utterly endearing.
"Good morning, P' Kim. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," Macau whispered, his face still flushed with embarrassment. His eyes darted around the room, mindful of the others still sleeping nearby.
"Don't give it a second thought, Macau. You didn't make me uncomfortable in the slightest," I whispered gently, a warm smile spreading across my face as I tousled his hair. If he knew just how much I cherished the feeling of his embrace, he wouldn't need to apologize at all.
"Should we wake up the others?" Macau inquired, still gazing at me with a rosy flush on his cheeks. We both glanced around the living room, taking in the sight of everyone still lost in peaceful slumber.
"No, let's let them sleep a bit longer. They might be tired from last night's game marathon," I whispered. Macau nodded in agreement, a small smile playing on his lips. "Come on, I'm starving and I can't wait for everyone to wake up," I added, rising to my feet. Macau followed suit, and together we headed to the dining area. As we entered, we found my father already enjoying his breakfast alone. When he saw us, he greeted us with a warm smile and motioned for us to join him.
"Good morning, my boys. Have a seat, and I'll have someone bring you breakfast," my father greeted us warmly. Macau and I exchanged nods and took our seats next to him, facing each other. My father promptly instructed the maids to fetch our breakfast, and within minutes, they returned with a delightful spread for both Macau and me.
"Did you end up sleeping in the living room too, Pa?" Macau inquired, having finished his eggs.
"Yeah, that was a mistake. My back's sore from it," my father replied with a wry smile. Both Macau and I shared a chuckle at his comment. A few minutes later, the rest of the family joined us in the dining room. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast together and then spent the entire day playing with Venice and engaging in lively conversations about anything but work.
The weekend passed blissfully, filled with laughter and warmth. While we all cherished each other's company, I especially treasured the moments spent with Macau, and he seemed to feel the same way. We discussed our upcoming weekend at my penthouse, and it was settled—Macau would spend the entire weekend with me. I was ecstatic at the thought of having so much time together with him, and the opportunity to finally express my feelings was a dream come true.

After Hia, P' Pete, Venice, and I left the Major Family House and arrived home, my mind was consumed by my conversation with Chay and the choice I had made. The thought of P' Kim and Chay potentially becoming a couple was painful, but my resolve to support my best friend remained steadfast. As I lay on my bed, staring up at the ceiling, the only solace I found was in the anticipation of spending the entire upcoming weekend with P' Kim. It would likely be the last chance I'd have to be alone with him before he and Chay might start something new. I pushed those unsettling thoughts aside and focused on making the most of my time with P' Kim.
