Cause you're a sky full of stars

Tom was fiddling with his hands while he waited for Jake. After all stars Tom had kept his promise and they talked things out. They had decided to give their relationship another chance but to take things slow. Because even though they both got very hurt by the others actions they loved each other and were willing to fight for their relationship. They had already gone out on several dates and right now Tom was waiting for Jake in their favourite Chinese restaurant. Tom was starting to get a little worried when he suddenly felt someone taping on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Jake with a big grin on his face. Jake always came late to their dates. It was his way of taking revenge for the two years Tom had ghosted him.

'Hey Tom!'

Said Jake while he sat down at the table.

'Hey Jake.'

Said Tom not being able to hide his relieved expression.

'You look good tonight.'

'Eh...'

Tom's face turned red. He was flustered by the compliment and didn't know how to react. Jake laughed when he saw Tom's reaction. He really enjoyed giving Tom compliments and seeing how the black haired man reacted to them.

As the evening progressed they talked about everything. Jake told Tom about the bakery he and Miriam had recently opened and how they had been receiving a lot of customers. Tom smiled while listening and told Jake in his turn stories about his work. Time passed quickly and before they knew it their food was finished and they had to leave.

Tom and Jake walked out the restaurant hand in hand. Outside it was dark and the sky was filled with a thousand stars. As they walked to the park a woman suddenly looked at them with a disgusted look on her face. She kept looking at them till they walked by and made it very clear that she didn't like what she saw. First they thought it was because they were gay. This wasn't their first time dealing with a homophobic Karen. But then they heart her say something. 'If you have to look like that at least cover up so we don't have to see it.' Tom was shocked and looked ashamed to the ground. He had started to accept his scars but showing them stil felt a little to revealing sometimes. Comments like that didn't help.

Jake on the other hand was furious. He really wanted to shout at the woman but he had learned from his past experiences that that wasn't always the answer. Instead he turned around and stuck his tong out to the woman. Than he took Tom's hand running away and leaving the shocked woman behind.

The rest of the walk Tom stayed silent and of course Jake noticed that.

'Are you oké?'

'Yeah i'm fine.'

They had finally arrived at the park and were standing underneath a tree. Jake took Tom's hand in his.

'Promise me you'll never listen to people like that. They're just to stupid to realise how beautiful you are.'

Tom looked away.

'Stop lying.'

Jake cupped Tome's face in his hand and looked him in the eyes.

'I'm not.'

Tom smiled and leaned down. There under a sky filled with stars they shared a beautiful kiss. It was the kind of kiss writers often describe in fairy tales. Only this one was very real.
